Seablade the Octopus

Recommended Posts

First shot reminds me of Final Fantasy 2 US.

I thought the same thing.

Really neat job. Thanks for sharing.

I love the idea! If I ever stumble upon a decent toy octopus, I'll use that technique.

It's easy to see how I can use this in a game.

Do you have the name of picture of the original toy?? I used a safari pacific octopus then the Mega Bloks kraken. But those are harder to find now.

Looks great :)

Sorry didnt see the original link. I wish I would have used washers like you did.

I used round gaming bases ( Might have been recycled mage knight bases, now Im not sure, heres a link to the thread where I posed all 3 times I have made kraken and octopus mods:

We needed a vulture for Rangres shadowdeep and I remembered I had a toy eagle. I was surprised by the level of detail on it and I like how it turned out.

I hadn't planned too, but I've reposted this here on the advice of Glitterwolf, as the WIP forum doesn't tend to see as much traffic.  It is a little scenic backdrop that I have been working on over the past 3 weeks, an old smugglers cache that was abandoned decades earlier when an ancient horror took up residence in the old sewer tunnels.  For the ancient horror I used Reapers 'Spell Effect: Shadow Tentacles (SKU:  77367)

Vastly different to the sort of scenes and terrain I normally build, but it came out ok in the end.

From the depths of SPACE, they came!

A menace unlike any the Solar System had yet seen! Their weapons--inexorable! Their strange mental powers--UNCANNY!

Bombshell's Counterblast line has a faction called the Edofleini. Can't prove anything, but I feel strongly that the designer had read David Wiesner's "June 29, 1999" at a formative age. The Edo are giant-brained cephalopods with zap guns and psionic powers, and if that doesn't tickle your fancy, perhaps a Space Squid has used an Emotive Transductor to suck all the JOY and WONDER from your heart? (They can do that, you know!)

I couldn't resist, anyway. Tried to give them a color scheme inspired by this coconut octopus.

Here's the four-eyed leader of the bunch, in its magnificent robe of office.

The gold-armored subordinate with Neural Halberd:

      A vicious enforcer, tentacles flailing:

      A four-eyed underling:

      And a runtish Spawnling:

      And here's a group shot!

Keep watching the skies! Guard your brains! ARE YOUR THOUGHTS YOUR OWN, CITIZEN?

Ever so many more pictures below if you click:

Update: a very sizeable BRAIN SQUID, also Bombshell. "Destroys Nulls" is here to eat softshell hypercrabs and subjugate inferior intellects, and buddy, it's all out of hypercrabs.

Good day everyone, here are a few pictures of the 03017, Charnel Grub aka Carrion Cralwer I painted for the diorama I recently finished. This metal Dark Heaven Legends model was sculpted by Jason Wiebe and is also avalable in Bones under SKU # 77226.

So here's three more, just quick drybrushes but I think they are good enough for my dnd table. Hope you like them too!

      First one is an umberhulk:

      before repainting:

The second one is also an umberhulk I guess (painted by my sister):

      before:

The last one is a gorgon, simplest paintjob but effective I'd say:

      before:
