styates
Hello. I have been following posts on this board for a couple of weeks, but this is my first post. I have just recently dug out my crate of old mini's and started painting them again after years of collecting dust. One of the mini's is a fairly large dragon that no longer has any wings. Does anyone know of a good resource for parts to repair things like this. I have looked in the Reaper Boneyard, but it is difficult as nothing in there has dimensions listed. I have several other mini's that could also use some parts here and there and would really use a good source in order to complete them. I have seen people make mention of sculpting their own parts, but I don't think that I have the talent yet (if ever ) to even attempt doing that. Thanks in advance for your suggestions!!! ladystorm
well, first, welcome to the boards. now on to wings. not knowing the size of dragon you have, fairly large can be interpreted differently, it isn't easy to blindly recommend any of the wings in the boneyard. Box sets each have dimensions for the dragons. other Reaper Dragons don't have dimensions, but are around 80-100 mm from base to wingtip. (yes this link does return everything with dragon in description, but it helps some) does that help any? maybe if you could share what dragon you were working on, others who had it, or know it could share more. cher Edited January 29, 2004 by ladystorm
styates
I don't know the dimensions right off. I'll have to measure it when I get home. It was from an old AD&D box set containing a large dragon, two baby dragon's (one is hatching from a batch of two or three eggs) and a large pile of treasure that served as the base. I'll try to get more info later. In the meantime thanks again for the help.

styates
Ok. I finally have some measurements. It is sitting on it's hind legs with the tail coiled behind it and stands about 8 cm tall. I hope this helps a bit.
ladystorm
since 8cm = 80mm, I think the blister pack dragons, (other Reaper Dragons link in above post) would be the ones to consider. I think the box set dragons will be too big. my opinion, for what it is worth, hope it helps, cher
CripDyke
also - not being a trouble maker, I'm glad for you to get what you want-whatever that is. If you want wings, hey - the boneyard is a great place. ...however... have you thought about doing it w/o wings? I think it's always good to have a coupl'a no-wing dragons around for variety... pae
doh! For a minute I was about to ask Sir Robin if he was back from Africa yet. Then I realized it was someone else!
cthulhufan
You can use plastic-card and cut-out the wings like those of a butterfly to the exact measurements you need. Then use some thick glue to make shapes on the wing like on stained glass then paint it when dry.
