Yesterday I managed to grab some time to make minor changes, and put a couple touches on the Elf.

I am now at the basing stage, and I suspect this project will be complete in a day or two.

This has been a complete woot to do, and full of surprises along the way.

Here are two further photos:

great job.  If you can push the highlights higher and keep the blending as subtle on the next project you will be doing incredible.

The next one I paint won't be in shades of Orange, that is for sure.

Most difficult of colors I have ever attempted.

That Palette is most difficult !

I look forward to popping some highlights and some more fun blending !

Thanks for your input !

Hopefully that basing stuff gets to you soon

I am anticipating that I will get it around 1100 tomorrow morning Ub3r !

I can't wait to look at what is there !

It will be wonderful to finish off the mini, and I have SO ENJOYED painting this one.

The challenge of the Orange is horrendous !  That is one tough color !

Thanks again, and I will let you know if I have questions :)

Love it Jay, can't wait to see this one based.

Any advise on attempting orange cloth?

Make sure you use a brown liner to line every silly crevice and fold in your miniature.

Then make a very thin wash of BLUE and apply that in thin layers in your folds and crevices.

Then do a wet on wet wash on your orange color (orange with a touch of dusky flesh color as a dark tone

Orange with a touch of Red as a mid tone..  I'll let you decide what you want to add as a highlight to that Orange color..

Hope that helps.

Take a look at the photo's when I started adding the orange into the cloak.

It looks like you added some more shadows to the cloak, which is a definite improvement.  Plus some very nicely done small fiddly details like the buckles, etc.  ^_^

Good Eye LittleBluberry !

I did, and the buckle and the leaf buckle, and the gloves.

Nice when someone recognizes what I was working on.

You have made a big leap in your painting with this one. You've good brush control now, your blends are smooth and your work is more subtle. I do like this palette. It is perfect for a Wood Elf as I can see the colours of the changing Woods in him. He could slip unseen through the Autumn Woods in this garb.

Says it'll be there Thursday. My goodness the USPS is slow on this one, probably because I sent it on a Saturday with them being off Sunday/Monday.

Yeah; I saw that also Ub3r,

It will get here when it gets here, I'm looking forward to finishing the base.

I put some paint on the base in prep for covering it, and doing something with it.

I decided to experiment with my photography (using my cell phone and tripod).

As I have come to recognize, a great mini, Lousy photo's, means a lousy miniature, since no one can

appreciate the work you have done.  So I reconfigured my photo area, moved camera further back, and

took some photos.  Adding a longer shot of the figure gives consistent, and color rich photo's.

This is coming from the guy that took the crappiest miniature photos ever taken..ROFL!

I'm going to post three with this post.

Note how the colors all pop, and have the same intensity...wasn't getting that with the photo above this one !

Thanks for sending the basing stuff... dying to gt my paws on them :)
