Not necessarily trucked. There's ports on the Gulf Coast, too.

I don't know if that's where Reaper's stuff comes in at, but they do exist.

I want to say they've said they come in to the port in LA, but my memory's fuzzy on the best of days and mangy at the worst. Might then be rail to Dallas, then trucked in.
Reading this, for about five minutes I wondered why china couldn't just take it directly to Texas, then I remembered the continents....... I should sleep.

These distance numbers are in nautical miles and are rounded off.

Foochow to LA = 5900

Foochow to Panama = 8800

Panama to Corpus Christi = 1500

Going via the Panama canal adds almost 4500 additional miles by sea. Best possible speed at sea is 31 miles per hour. (But many container ships are slower than that.) The sooner a container lands and gets on a truck moving at 60 mph the sooner the container gets to Denton.

Maybe the Pathfinder Red?

Added to my first weeks order to help me get to the magic number 40.  Hopefully my daughter enjoys painting it as much as she did Cthulhu.

Maybe it will fit diagonally on a 2" base. It overlaps a 50mm round by a bit.

Just checked my order I made last week and it was not the Pathfinder Red Dragon but the Fire Dragon (77109).  I am guessing Red is bigger since there is a $2 price difference.  Hoping the Fire Dragon is still big enough to make it easy for the daughter to slap some paint on it.

Alternate joke:  Has MSP been tested for anti-fouling?

Curiously enough, this is a good question considering that some minis can make nice aquarium pieces.

I'm not concerned out fouling so much as fish safety - they tend to be sensitive to chemicals especially in the closed environment of an aquarium.

I keep threatening to paint Cthulhu, seal him with polyurethane, plumb him for oxygen release ideally near his tentacles and gift him to a Lovecraft obsessed friend but I dunno if the Bones plastic can be considered aquarium safe or not. I don't want to find out the hard way when all her fishies succumb to the malign indifference of an Elder Good and start floating upside down.

They are both about the same size.  I like the look of the pathfinder red more (I use it as my character's dragon form), but they are both good.

They are very close. I happened to have one of each sitting right here next to me. The fire dragon has the less imposing pose, but is actually slightly larger (about half an inch longer in the wing, and thicker in the body), and while I've lost the head to my PF Red, the fire dragon's head seems quite a bit larger than the PF Red's

Sounds like a sensitive but inexpensive fish in a small tank with a bones model or two is an experiment that needs to happen.

I wonder how products at Petsmart® are tested?

ETA:

This is a really good read: http://www.bettafish.com/showthread.php?t=96441

You'd think stone and rock would be pretty safe.. ..it seems not so much.

The Bones plastic feels a lot like the plastic used for fake fish tank plants ... But I'd be willing to bet there are aquarium enthusiasts inclined to tell you those are not safe.

Maybe the next KS should be to fund a Bones cargo ship. Not just a ship to carry Bones, but one made of Bones!

Think of the mold costs.

Alternate, alternate joke.  Will Buglips volunteer to paint it with a 5/0 brush?

It may take more than seven days.  Ten, at least.

Probably about the same as stuff from china is usually tested.

And I looked in this spilt thread to see what TGP wrote (I guess I'm a creeper), and saw that my fan girl hysteria started it off. (I realized later I should have colored it in purple.)... though that would be lying... because I meant every bit of that excitement.

Anyways, my husband just asked here a few days ago: "So when are your bones gonna come in?" I know he has been eyeing that space craft... when they get here... I think I'll remind him that he said they were my bones.

---

If it's anything other than a 10/0 I will think he's selling out.

---

I remember last time the container came through a port in Texas. Maybe Galveston. So I could not say if they would be freighting it across the country. I would think there would be additional cost.

The hatchlings make me happy. I needed a medium size dragon for my kobold character. However, he'll need a size large mini at some point. Were there any large size (2" x 2" base) dragons from Bones 1 I can get?

The Young Fire Dragon is most excellent for many applications and is the next size up from the hatchlings, I think.  I don't have my Pathfinder Red handy, but it's in a very different pose and I think it's technically supposed to be a size up again.  There's quite a price difference, too.

Young Fire Dragon:  $3.49

Pathfinder Red Dragon: $14.99

It's going to be hard to find that Pathfinder Red in Bones for a while, though.  The Reaper store shows 0 in stock.

Slightly off-topic question that's probably been answered elsewhere, so sorry: I thought I read, some time ago, that all the Bones productions were being moved stateside. Was that incorrect, or is this somehow different, or is that still in the works, or what?
