Cranky Dog
A question to my fellow Canucks, how long has your average shipping time been since from the moment you placed an order with Reaper to the moment of delivery to your doorstep? This would include cross-border delays. My reason for asking: My new job is in a mining camp in northern Labrador, and with a week in, week out schedule, there are only four business days out of every two weeks where I am home. So I want to time my orders to receive them when I'm home instead of risking leaving a package on an apartment doorstep for over a week or complications with the post office. buglips*the*goblin
2 weeks average to east coast newfoundland metro area, sometimes 3 if customs decides to inspect it.
Qwyksilver
Maybe look at the price for a PO Box at your local post office, so you wouldn't have to worry about it.
Moderator Darsc Zacal Posted October 20, 2014 Moderator Share Posted October 20, 2014 Don't know how much this'll help you, as I'm on the West Coast, Greater Vancouver area, but the 1st week Halloween order I placed took 10 days to get to me. However I have had shipments from Reaper in the past that have taken over 3 weeks to arrive.
Cranky Dog
I have a sneaking suspicion that I'll have to use some alternatives: - Ship at work (an even worse option for me) - Ship to a friend who I know will be in town - Ship to mom! Not expecting to seen mom in person until New Year's. And friend may not be at home and I shouldn't be asking them to run to the post office after hours. Best solution: ship to a friend's workplace (with his name on the package instead of mine)! The one with a car, not the the one takes the bus. Just thinking of the size of my KS Bones2 order (already combined with friends for a single shipment) and future orders, this will be the most efficient solution. Sabith
2-3 weeks to central Alberta. Usually 10-12 business days, assuming no customs inspection.

Dan Goodchild
Is this not an issue for the rest of your mail? I think Qwyksilver has the right idea though, if it's feasible, rent a post office box; either at a Canada Post outlet or a UPS store or the like. ETA: My orders typically take about 9 - 10 days, but that's to Niagara Falls, ON which in postal terms is one truck ride from the distribution hub in Toronto. Well I can't speak for everyone in Canada, but some homes (like my parents) have a mail slot in the door. They can go away for weeks and the mail just piles up inside their house. Packages are a different issue. This could change for most people in their area if Canada Post follows through on stopping door-to-door delivery. Ronald X
10 days to Hamilton, ON. Almost exactly, every time. And a crash course for all the Canadians in here on what will happen when Canada post stops going door-to-door. I have a community mailbox, it's not bad. Basically every new neighbourhood does. The mailperson delivers to your specific box, which you get keys for. If it's too big to fit in your personal box, there is a larger one for parcels. They'll put a note in your mailbox saying there is a parcel for you, and a key to the larger mailbox. You use it to open up the larger box, get your parcel, then drop the key into the outgoing mail slot. If it's too big to fit into that, or if they determine you need to pay customs on it, they just leave you a note to pick it up at the nearest post office. If that happens, you definitely want your correct name and address to be on the parcel. I typically get my parcels shipped to my in-laws because they're retired and home all the time, but when it goes to post office, I have a huge pain getting it from them because my ID doesn't have their address on it, and the delivery person has a habit of not putting the pick-up tag in their mailbox. (As a matter of fact, the delivery person in their area is kind of a jerk. He doesn't even try to deliver when there are customs charges because he doesn't want to collect the money. He just drops the parcel off at the post office and says failed delivery, then goes a couple days later and quietly sneaks the tag in with the regular mail. If at all. A couple times I've found out just from online parcel tracking that it was sitting at post, or I'd never have known. Huge pain.)
Malynor
Almost always takes 12 days to Fredericton NB... Usually... I've had as little as 10, and I had one order get held in customs for over a week (I assume - CanadaPost tracking never actually picked it up - all I had was USPS tracking up to entering Canada, and then it showed up at my mailbox 2 weeks later). While I think you could learn your timing fairly well, there's always some potential for variations. I'd follow others recommendations and rent a PO Box, just to be safe.

MiniCannuck
St. Catharines, Ontario here. My last two Halloween orders took 6 days. However, other times of year have taken longer.
