Nice job. How'd you do the writing in thew book?

Just freehanded it--erm, if that counts as freehand--with a little black on the pointy, pointy tip of the brush. Tried to dab tiny and rune-like. Oh, the brush had a split tip, making it forked-like, and I tried to use that to my advantage in a couple spots. (And washed it, then, with SW's Parchment wash.)

I love Sandra Garrity's characters.

If I may offer a criticism, the face looks a little flat. Maybe some color on the lips, some shadow in the eye sockets, to enhance features?

Thought about that, but was afraid of overshooting. What kind of colors should I think about?

So I know this question was directed at Pingo, but for lips at least I generally get good results mixing a tiny bit of red with whatever the flesh color is.  You don't have to get the lips perfect, it looks better to put on a little less lip color than to put on too much.  You could probably also use a thin coat of a coral or pink, but mixing with the flesh tone is a fast and easy way to make sure it looks natural.

EDIT:  I'm also a fan of Sandra Garrity, she does a great job of making miniatures that are fun to paint.

A trio of figures from two different companies. In red is a rogue from Perfect Six miniatures, overlooking the training of two Little Wolves (Amazon girls)  from Bad Squiddo games.

Unknown female vampire figure I picked up in a boxed game set.  Can't remember the exact name or manufacturer.  Box art showed them in purple, I wanted to explore other colors.  I see her as the kind of vampire that likes to play with her food and enjoys a bit of lively sport. I have 2 of her sisters to do in other colors.

The photo is a bit washed out from the flash.  Her skin is a pale grey, different than her white gloves.  Casting on the face is strange, she has an odd shaped mouth, and no nose so I painted one on.
