My favorite is my Core World Coalition Planetary Defense Force (PDF), with red and white markings symbolizing their opposition to Templar aggression (Templar colors being blue and white). A few models:

I also have some Adon models in parade red, yellow, and black to match the Adonese logo:

I'm going to make the Terrain 23rd legion, the Golden Apples. It's a reference to Eris and the Apple of Discord. :)

My wife is working on decals, and I ordered some decal paper to print them out. I can't wait until I get muh Bones!

I'm going for an initial merc / independent regiment called 1st Hinterland Protection Force.

A mostly Terran force, it is funded by rich agri planets to protect their interests.

The force purchases a range of mech's (mostly what they can get their hands on - or half the ace level :) )

Colours for this unit are going to be, fairly standard camouflage with some aspects/ colours added on the weapons and mech race types.

The first models to be painted for the force are 2 x Halberd, 2 x Wight and 2 x Assasin

Your unit has been added to the list under the "Independents" faction.

I'm working on the 99th Auxiliary Regiment for the Templars. Somewhat like the French Foreign Legion, the 99th Auxiliary is a regiment for those who wish to serve the interests of the Templar, but who aren't Squires or Knights and are therefore excluded from the regular military. The regiment is also open to Knights who have disgraced themselves and who wish to serve a penance - factionalism between the penitent Templars and non-Templars remains a morale problem haunting the unit. Differing from standard Templar colours, the 99th Auxiliary wears black, with two bands of red (the side torsos and legs in the case of CAVs). White stripes appear down the red portions.

So noted under the Templar Faction.

Brief word of introduction. I know next to nil about CAV. My current interest in it is solely from a painting perspective. With that in mind, please excuse any blunders I make.

So, I'm a painter looking for some cool stuff to paint. I see CAV's mechs. I think "I like mechs, those look cool, I think I'll grab some". Then my eyes flicker upwards towards where it says "10mm scale". I think you can see where this is going.

Long story short, how big are these? It looks like they come on 1" hexes, and $4.99-$6.99 is quite a lot to charge for a small mini (in my opinion, of course).

      Many thanks, all!

I had painted a flail as a test model, and then decided to do a group since it was an easy color scheme.
had too many tags, but it's a pillager, wolverine, flail, outlaw, and poltergeist

So I finally fell into the temptation and got my first ground based sci fi minis!(I do have spaceships.)
A Cataphract, conquerer , and a halberd by Reaper minis came in with my horsman today! Sadly the halberd is missing a piece so it may in end up being returned.
So my first order of business was a small conversion to the cataphract
      Before conversion

And the conquerer has donated the necessary parts for said conversion, specifically his smaller missile pods.

A bit of work with an exacto knife removed said weapons.

And a bit more exacto work to make a spot for the pods on the Cataphract.

Some super glue to assemble the cataphract and voila! It is time for paint!

And don’t worry about the Conquerer, I have a conversion in mind for it too. It just might not be a true mech when I’m done.......

More sci-fi stuff to come soon I hope!
And maybe just maybe I’ll try to make a backstory for these guys.
      Thankyou for looking!
