ub3r_n3rd
Awesome job! Have you thought about getting some gesso, priming the cork, and then painting it up to add some variety to the rocks? It'll also stop the cork from being porous.

I got a 16 oz bottle from Michaels for like $8. They have coupons on their website and app all the time too.

ub3r_n3rd
Personally, I like W&N Series 7 (if you can get ahold of them) and Raphael 8404 Series (just as good and easier to get ahold of). I found some Raphs at italianartstore.com not too long ago.
Dontfear
I agree that the cork needs something on it to look more like dirt or rocks. Also, don't be afraid to go darker. deeper shadows would really add contrast and make the piece look better. Nice job though both with the basing and the painting.
Arc 724
EVERYTHING about this is wonderful!: The base with the water on it, the Birch tree. Cheese-n-crackers!
CorallineAlgae
Superb! I love the sideways glance. That's one elven archer who believes in leg protection.
