Moderator Popular Post Froggy the Great Posted November 14, 2014 Moderator Popular Post Share Posted November 14, 2014 I made hovertanks for the worlds in my head. First, a Nathi skimmer, a low nap-of-the-earth flyer, designed to fill a role somewhere between modern battle tanks and helicopters. Yes, this conversion is sacrilege. Yes, I care a little: And deployed as for a 40K game, based on all the games I've seen involving tanks: Here's a tank for a border-worlds Human army. It's an older model from before hoverdrives were optimized for better displacement, but the success of this tank in the last major conflict ensured that there are still large numbers and many variants in active service throughout the periphery still. And again, deployed as for 40K:
ShadowRaven
Love them both, though I think the cockpit on the Snow Speeder conversion needs more definition And it would only be sacrilege if it wasn't awesome

Bayushiseni
No sacrilege at all. The only sacrilege is to stop dreaming. What do you mean with "deployed as 40K"? I might not be understanding the sarcasm...
Moderator Froggy the Great Posted November 14, 2014 Author Moderator Share Posted November 14, 2014 Oh, it's just a sidelong observation that every time I see people playing 40K with tanks, said tanks get destroyed and turned upside down very early in, or perhaps even before, turn 1.
Bayushiseni
Thanks, Froggy, I don't play WH40K since 1997 so I'm not aware of changes.

smokingwreckage
Even back in the red box days, tanks were a gamble. When they paid off though it was worth it, just to watch your opponent cry.
haldir
your 40k tactics are similiar to all of my wargaming tactics. I think you've got a spy in my armies!!! Looks great. Love that the metal has a shimmer effect to it.
ShadowRaven
it goes back to the first rule of mixed unit tactics. Kill the big things first or they will mess you up.
