Oh my gosh! Those minis!

I had one of the sets -- not this one, but the Wolfriders and their wolves. I miss that set!

These are beautiful. You did a great job on them, and I hope they are well received.

These are very well done Paul! I'm sure the gift from her father will be greatly appreciated!

Thank you ub3r...I appreciate your comment(s) and feedback.

These old eyes are not as sharp as they used to be and the hands not so steady anymore...but the father really liked the finished set when I showed it to him last night.

Thank you Pingo! The father saw them last night and said that he was very happy with the set!

I think that these were some beautiful sets...I just wish they had been done in the current modern miniature size!

Snake thing = "Madcoil," a horrible monster that happened when wild magic fused an enormous python to a very large hunting cat. It ate elves and humans, among other things.

I had the first boxed set, the Wolfriders, back in the day. Still got Cutter and Leetah, but the others are lost amidst the sands of time. I'd love to have them all back again... and didn't Julie Guthrie sculpt those, back in the day?

And yes, the elves in particular were TEENY, since they were half the size of humans, and the humans were, if I recall, true 25mm.

Dr. Bedlam...You are correct (the snake thing is Madclaw)...You are also correct about the sculpture; it is/was Julie Guthrie. She was the sculpture for the entire set of 5 boxes (Wolfriders I, Journey To Sorrow's End, Personalities, Wolfriders II and Quest To Blue Mountain)...all released by Ral Partha.

The sets were released as 25mm miniatures...but the actual sizes varied...the above set figure sizes were (not counting the bases)...24mm, 18mm, 19mm, 30mm, 25mm, 22mm, 26mm and Madclaw at 35mm.

"And some good news here. We're preparing the new Kickstarter right now, called "Sitting Folks". Yes, we want to create a lot of miniatures in sitting poses. The launching date is about the middle of November. Yes, we're still painting rewards from the previous campaign, but the new one will not affect the process." -- from the Dwarven Forge Gaming Talk forum!

      Hi chums!

This is the latest Kickstarter project, expanding our fantasy range this time, and bringing light to the ones we have that might not have been noticed. Along with some super cool female minis, we have some brand new scenics too, and a whole bunch of add on bundles.
I'll post more on the lead up, but for now if you're interested, could you click the "notify me" on the pre launch page and it will help the algorithms, and you know algorithms are the new gods!

      Story
Long gone is the time of Dwarves in Midlam, a city built over the ruins of their Middle Home, which lay between the Lost Mountains and the Southern Holds.  The Barons of Midlam have always claimed their city was gifted to them by the dwarves of old, and claim an ancient alliance, although dwarves have rarely been seen in the city, and must register their presence with the Town Council.
Far to the North, so they say, lies the Lost Mountains, a place of legend and dragons.  It is said that many years ago, a dwarf came to Midlam in secret, hired two guides and headed North, never to be seen again.  There was also rumours that a group of grizzled dwarven mercenaries made the journey, but they too disappeared into folklore.
Now rumours abound of Dwarven Adventurers, heading North once more, into the perpetual freezing wastes.  The frightened chatter speaks of their desire to rid the Mountains of the orcs and goblins and return the Dwarven King to his throne.  Nobody knows what truly lies North, but people fear the return of the old wars, rampaging dragons and a dark evil that has no name...

Next in line: 77049, Bones Arthrand Nightblade, Elf Ranger.

I tried priming with a 1:1 mix of Blue Liner:White Brush On Primer.  There were a few mold lines and casting valleys that showed up.  I put a layer of Brush On Sealer on them.  We’ll see how that worked.
