Citadel has just released (to pre-order - they're coming out next week) a new line of Contrast paints which behave rather differently than conventional minis paints in a number of respects.
I recently got a chance to play around with them at my local Warhammer store, and wrote down some initial impressions.
Has anyone else gotten a chance to mess around with these, and if so, what was your thoughts on them?
(my favorite result down below)
Hi everyone, I was recently sorting through old pictures and came upon some interesting ones. I think I never posted this one.
It's a Wizards of the coast Chainmail CM88705, Gnoll Trooper. I probably painted this it in 2006. I thought some of you might like to see it.
Anyone knows who sculpted this model?
"One of my favourite range of figures ever was Citadel's 1980's licensed "Lord Of The Rings" minis. I have finally decided to get all the miniatures I own painted up (over time) & try to acquire the ones which are missing from my collection (& paint them up too!)". Here is my next completed mini - Treebeard: Mighty Ent.
I tried to keep the colours as close to Treebeard's description in the book. I guess this mini sculpt may seem a little dated by todays wonderfully elaborate standards but I think it has it's own charm especially in his warm characterful face.
Comments & thoughts always welcome!
Thanks for looking & "Hrum Hoom"!
Good morning all,
Here's a figure I just finished, from the Hackmaster/Kenzer & Co. line that Ral Partha currently owns, a Bob Olley Greater Satyr. It's a pretty large figure, more in tune with heroic scale, like most of the Hackmaster figures, fun and easy to paint.
The only thing I noticed when I based him is that my base has a chip in the plastic but too late to do anything about, as I saw it after I super glued it to the figure.
I tried to give him mostly natural tones, but had to do a bit of gold in there as well for the decoration on the bow and his pan pipes, but they are softened with some browns and dark elf skin washes, so it's probably okay.
So anyhows, enjoy!
