Froggy the Great 61747 Report post Posted October 17, 2002 Gauth. You need Gauth. Large flamer-template THAT, why doncha?
smokingwreckage 9134 Report post Posted October 17, 2002 Ho-leeee SCHMIDT! I just went and compared the dimensions of that beaste to my poor little citadel chaos 2 headed whatsit. HE NEEDS HIS OWN TABLE! I will show it to my GW addict friends and they will look at it askance and drawl "Yes but it's not really CITADEL is it? Not really finely detailed Citadel hmmm?" At which point I will hit them with it, and explain the depth of their error to them if and when they ever regain consciousness...
Froggy the Great 61747 Report post Posted October 17, 2002 It's good to see a convert, yepyepyep. And there's good historical precedent for conversion by force, too, though I doubt the noggin-bashers were dragons.
CripDyke 1 Report post Posted October 17, 2002 well, of course he's converting... he did just get enlightenment, didn't he?
Froggy the Great 61747 Report post Posted October 17, 2002 Now that you mention it. there does seem to be a sort of logical progression there. ...no matter how we kick and scream against it.
smokingwreckage 9134 Report post Posted October 18, 2002 Yes, well at least SOMEONE noticed my ongoing spiritual evolution. And conversions? Well, them Blademaidens need a few, if I'm to create a world-conquering army of heavily armoured waifs! Which brings me right back to upcoming releases............ *sigh*
Froggy the Great 61747 Report post Posted October 18, 2002 Dunno, I've got a quite respectable Mordheim warband made from the Sisters of the Blade minis. I can think of nine offhand that I have at the moment, and that's only the ones with their navels covered.
smokingwreckage 9134 Report post Posted October 18, 2002 My wife has just acted on her interest in miniatures and got hold of some Sisters and others.... by fluke I THINK, she bought several of the midrif-topped "chicks" (sic) because the others "look too chunky" [in the pictures]...... But she does, of course, love Monique!
Froggy the Great 61747 Report post Posted October 18, 2002 Well, everyone loves Monique, even though we have to re-base her to keep her from falling over in her vampiric splendour. What was the reaction to the unchunky bared midriffs?
CripDyke 1 Report post Posted October 18, 2002 y'know, I didn't particularly like monique til I saw her in blue & white with the vampire-y stuff removed or downplayed (check out the pics in "show off" if you haven't seen them) Can't remember who did the conversion, but it really made me appreciate the mini. I guess I've been prejudiced against the vampire minis cuz' I believe there's just too many of them. They aren't supposed to come in packs. Played right, One 8HD vampire can take on a whole party of 10th level characters. "vampire armies" seem ridiculous to me, cuz who could win? so, after seeing many, many of them in the reaper line, I stopped looking. The blue/white monique conversion has showed me the error of my ways...
Steven Page 3 Report post Posted October 18, 2002 Monique looks eee-vile in red metallic armor as well. Like she's ready to eat dragon steak and there's none in the freezer.
Kheprera 36862 Report post Posted October 19, 2002 I just pretend the vampire figs aren't vampires, although some of them are hard to not classify in that sense. Monique is one of those that can easily be classified as the "big super nasty evil bad girl of the world" or as the "super huge hero who should be deified." I've so far have about three or four color schemes I want to paint her in.
Froggy the Great 61747 Report post Posted October 19, 2002 Burnished black looks really really cool. Silver, black, then drybrush silver, and paint some panels the color of dried blood, and she's awesome.
smokingwreckage 9134 Report post Posted October 19, 2002 I don't, and many others don't, see monique as a vampire- monique II is really apt for anything at all, not just vampiredom.
smokingwreckage 9134 Report post Posted October 19, 2002 Oh, she doesn't mind the midriff, really. :)
