So I went to Reapercon last year for the first earlier this year.  Had a great time, learned a lot and hung out with some of the coolest people.  What I didn't do was enter the paint contest.  Remember the picture or all of the forumites holding their trophies and certificates and medals?  I wasn't in there, I was taking the picture.  So klarg and Cash and Monkeysloth bullied me and had me swear upon pain or stealing my booze (they said they would release my Kraken) and made me promise to enter something next year.  So I will.

But me being me, I don't intend to make it easy on myself.  Oh no, I'm way too much of a masochist for that.  So not only am I going to enter, I'm going big.  How big you ask?  Well, it's going to be my first contest entry of any type.  My first resin miniature to boot.  My first display base too.  Hmm, still too easy.  I know, 'll make it a tribute to a forum member.  Which one?  Let's go with the Forum Mascot!  What kind of display base; dungeon, dumpster, stanky sock pile?  Hell no!  Surface of the moon baby!

While I just may be clinically insane, I'm not stupid.  I'll need help along the way.  Not only with pulling this off but keeping me motivated during the practically guaranteed disasters that will occur along the way.  Feel free to comment, brainstorm and critique.  It's practically impossible to hurt my feelings.  I'm my own harshest critic.

Buckle up, it's gonna be a bumpy ride.

Here's the basis for the figure; sixteen wondrous pieces of resin.  I'll need a sharper knife.

Yesh! I can't wait to see this! I'm still trying to work out the detail to make it to ReaperCon, and possibly enter some stuff in the "I don't know what or where to enter what I have or have not done yet" category... This project looks to be EPIC!

I wouldn't expect blazing fast speed on this project as I have a lot to work out.

I see the base as a square block of wood, with a label plate; "Emperor of the Moon".  Moonscape (small craters, moon dust, footprints?) up top with a space backdrop and Earth hanging behind his shoulder.

Obviously tangerine skin (a couple of Bones Bugbears have volunteered to serve as practice) and Napolionic (-ish, I will most likely offend some historical war gamers with my execution) colors for the uniform.  I haven't decided on the wolf yet.  I've considered painting it green and giving it antenna because a) space wolf and b) Buglips.

I have a picture of what I want it to look like in my head, but the true test will be how much it matches that IRL.  The trickiest part will be the lighting.  When I think of lighting in space, I think harsh lighting and sharp shadows.  I'll have to remember that when I'm painting the base to help sell it.

*looks at the newly organized paint shelf*

Yep, got that one.  One of the Bugbears (test subject #243761) is scheduled to give that one a whirl.

If I need to go brighter, I have Explosion Orange.  Or a few others.  But I'm thinking Pumpkin Orange is the way to go.

Contrary to my statements about blazing fast speeds, I have de-sprued all of the pieces for this mini.  I had been fearing working with resin, but this kind cuts like butter.  clean cuts, very little flash (what little there was was easily removed by scrapping with the x-acto blade).  However, thin pieces appear to be extremely fragile.  The sword broke off from the hand as I was cutting the hand off of the sprue, and a sliver or a corner of the hat came off as well.  The sword should be relatively easy to re-attach, but the piece of hat is so small as to just be visible.  I foresee either some green stuffing or some battle damage in my future.

It took me a bit but I think I've figured out how the legs attack to the wolf.  Figure I will assemble the wolf and rider and paint them separately.  Then tweak as needed when I put them together.  Same with the base. Hmm, I need a base.  At least a block of wood to start making a base.

Enough for the night. Off to sleep and then move furniture in the morn.

Anthropomorphic animals are not really my cup of tea, but these look nicely done.  I imagine someone here will be interested.

The unique miniature as a gift to all who back us in the first 12 hours once the campaign is live! (Starter Box+)
It's time to add a new page to the Signum chronicle!
Meet the Scarlet Forest Clan - a brand new faction for the skirmish wargame with miniatures "Legends for Signum".
The Cataclysm hit the Eastern islands really hard. After earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, and tsunamis, which enough shocked the island inhabitants, bunches of muggers from the continent struck the lands. As a result of this terrifying period, the Shogun power has been weakened, and the clans themselves started internecine wars.
But some looked beyond their own ambitions. Being a wise, standing out race, Kitsune have always considered themselves the chosen of the gods and the keepers of ancient knowledge. The sorceress princess, the new chosen one of the goddess Amaterasu is now willing to reunite the country again, calm the nature spirits, and fight back greedy foreigners. Every day more and more warriors, inspired by her message, decide to join the side of Princess Fumiko and the whole world will feel the power of swords and the secret magic of Kitsune very soon.
Go ahead and join the battle thus creating your own legend in "Legends of Signum".
We introduce a completely new side in the never-ending series of fantasy conflicts of the Signum World. The starter set "Kitsune Clan of the Scarlet Forest" includes 4 highly detailed resin miniatures of characters plus a set of support cards and game components - everything you need to immerse in the fantasy clash in the skirmish wargame "Legends of Signum".

Welcome everyone to the Kickstarter campaign for Sun & Moon. Two highly detailed 1:20 scale (90mm) resin kits  cast in high quality resin. Sun Is roughly 100mm to the top of his head!
Sun & Moon comparisment: Sun stands at nearly 100mm!!!
This has been the project that has been the longest in the works and also our most expensive one to date! We could really use your help to bring these two kits onto the market so we do hope that you like what you see and will be able to back us and help us spread the word! :)
Many years back, the idea to do some themed knights popped into my head and out of all of those, Sun & Moon were the ones that really stuck and kept coming back in my thoughts.  The idea to do two characters that are opposites of each other in every way really appealed to me.
You have the Sun Knight, devout follower of the Sun God, a fiery and strong warrior with everything about him representing his deity. I can just see him painted in bright and warm colours that embody the very essence of the Sun!
And then you have the Moon Knight, a cool and brooding figure that operates under the cover of darkness, guided by the wisdom of the Moon Goddess. Very much a deadly warrior in her own right! Painted in moody hues that represent the colours that only moonlight can shower the world in.

Before the known ages, the ancient gods, who were traveling through time and space, between galaxies and systems, between planets and moons, finally reached this small blue planet and its light gray moon. Millions of years ago, searching for the force on the dark side of this moon, they found the crystals that emitted enormous energy.
They took it with them and returned to the blue planet. With the use of the power from other dimensions they try to warp the crystal and use it for their own dark plans.
It quickly turned out that the crystal emitted too much power, a power that did not harmonize with the forces of the Ancient One. The symbiosis caused conflict and damage to the ancients. The warped crystal had been abandoned by them here... and for millions of years, it had lain, covered by layers of earth and sand in the darkness and silence...

Greetings from Andrzej (Ater), Jakub (MiniaturesArtTeam), and Pawel  (PJG_sculptor). For some time we were working together on something on the side which finally became a big miniature project. We plan to put it together in a board-battle game!
But let's take small steps and start gently. In our first project, we want to offer you some miniatures from the world which were shown to us in the dreams by one guy, who calls himself Cthulhu (we know... it is quite weird, but the dreams were really cool).
Inspired by these visions, we create a new universe in the dark, steampunk/dieselpunk climate. Now we want to show you our project and we cordially invite you not only to participate in the project itself but also to create it. Please, share your thoughts and opinions with us! Please come closer, sit down and hear a story about the Crystocracy.

      The Project
This is our 14th Chibi miniatures project!   7 years ago Andrew May of Meridian Miniatures launched the Tooth & Sword line of Chibi miniatures.  The models were hand sculpted and were a line of chibi that I loved ever since I saw them.  A couple years ago Meridian discontinued selling the entire product line.  Fast forward to today and Impact! was able to negotiate a purchase agreement for the entire line of Tooth & Sword chibi to bring them back to everyone that missed a chance to own them.
However technology improvements have allowed Impact! to 3-D scan all these hand sculpted models and now offer them as high quality digital models for you to print at home as well as remastered physical models as good as the originals.   The 3-D scans also allowed for new versions of the Tooth & Sword models to be offered as Stretch Goals!
We want your feedback, so please leave comments. We plan to engage our backers and would love ideas for other variants that you think need to be stretch goals.
      The Miniatures
The digital models will be sent as STL one piece models within a month of the project ending.   All of the one piece models will be sent in both no supports AND supported formats.
In addition, if you want the models will be available as physical one piece 3-D prints as well in super high quality resin prints.   Prints will be grey and will come with bases (as many are not free standing models).  MODELS WILL NOT BE PAINTED!
The normal models will be roughly 30mm to top of the models head.  This may vary slightly from model to model.   There is also a Hippogriff model that will be a bonus model if you get all the miniatures which is 50mm in size.
