I do think they made a mistake by not unveiling more stretch goals earlier in the campaign. The rush to do so now may have come too late.

I'm inclined to agree.  -_- I was expecting more of a bump at the 48 hour mark; it looks like the "Remind me" folks didn't end up seeing the value of the project, which I was afraid of.

I'm confident we'll see the $55K unlock, but with just over a day left to go, I don't think Grimes at $60K is gonna make it.

I'm very glad their project went as well as it did, and I'm looking forward to my awesome tiles (especially the clear ones!) next year. :)

More resin columns and bases unlocked. I'm beginning to think Frontline should have named the mascot Mr. Resin. Most of the stuff in the kickstarter is made of that instead of Stones/plastic.

More SKUs are, but there will be more bones tiles produced than resin bits.

You're right. There's enough Stones tiles to make most of our maps. Reaper already has a good bit of our plastic decor needs. I guess I was too excited about getting a table full of PVC dungeon tiles, terrain and dressing. This is a great kickstarter but it probably needed to be in the hundreds of thousands to unlock plastic dungeon dressing. Maybe it's the wrong time of year for a big project. If this is a financial success hopefully Frontline Games will give us a round two.

He made it! \(^‿^)/

Now for the long wait on the reveal... for the stretch goal we've already reached. Again. deadhorse.gif

Besides, I just got slapped with an extra $200 the other day to fix the brakes on the car (for a moment there I toyed with the idea of skimping on brakes in favor of Kickstarter, but in the end I decided against it).

Wise decision. Foregoing the brakes could potentially mean you wouldn't be around to see the arrival of your Stones.

Sucks when being responsible sucks up your fun funds, though.

Can someone clear up what is plastic and what is resin? I pledged for what I mentioned above thinking most of it was plastic. I need to adjust due to children not being conducive to resin terrain...

As far as I've been able to determine, the only things that are in the Stones plastic are the tiles and miniature bases. Everything else is either resin or metal (no word on which extras are which). I can post a comment asking, though.

I don't think that's quite correct.

I believe the round and square mini bases are cast in resin.

However in addition to the tiles, the standard "wooden" doors and the "metal" doors are made from the Stones material.

The rest of the dungeon dressing, as you stated, are either metal or resin.

Last few hours of the kickstarter! Get in now if you can. Even $1 could get you in the door. He will probably make it possible for people to add stuff in January so if moneys tight in December you may still be able to get tiles in January.

I just added the goblin lair. He's using most if not all of Adventuring Accessories II in the goblin lair (which is an $11 set). That's quite a bonus! He will also have 5 goblin "nest" style beds. I've wanted to have dungeon nests beds since forever. The Dwarven set will also have 5 dwarven beds. The nests should come in very handy. Lots of dungeon maps have those all over the place. Can't wait!!!

The goblin, dwarf, and ogre rooms are going to have to be a "get later" thing for me. I've concentrated on the tiles and the larger rooms as I believe they'll be the most versatile for my money.

I'll be adjusting my pledge manager one final time in a few minutes and then that'll be it for me.

I wish some of those goals had been revealed sooner than 7 hours before the end of the campaign, particularly the $100K goal. I think it would have helped to generate excitement and more backing sooner. Hopefully enough people will see it that we'll be able to get the $70K goal!

I have to admit I'm of two minds of. Kickstarters that grow to huge proportions vs Kickstarters that reach smaller goals.

While the larger Kickstarters obviously have a larger variety of rewards on offer and so may draw in more backers, the painful reality is that I could only afford a small fraction of the rewards on offer so once I've reached that level having anything more added to the campaign simply isnt going to get any not money out of me. And since much of what is produced through kickstarter never gets to retail locally, it's unlikely I'll ever buy what I missed and so those companies don't ever get anymore money from me.

However a creator who runs smaller and more frequent kickstarters for his products is more likely to get more of my money over the long term.

I agree 100%. My only big complaint from this kickstarter are all of the late updates. They should've had them all made, even if they were rough, before the goals were reached. Procrastination is not something you want to see during a kickstarter. It throws a wet towel on the excitement of the moment and slows down momentum.

I agree in general, but the $100k goal on this specific project was mostly to transfer the resin components to PVC. That would convince a lot of resin resistant backers to buy more of the room sets. I don't really want any resin rooms. I'll be getting the goblin lair because I'm a diehard goblin fanatic and one small room isn't gonna be hard to protect and store. I'd love a ogre room but the resin makes it unpalatable. If we could have reached that goal it would've actually meant less work for Frontline Games. All of the components that they would have made in resin in house would be made in China. Less work for them, even with more sales overall. With less sales they might end up with more in house work to do. It's definitely an unusual circumstance.
