Some will warp. A lot of my Bones figures come in warped and I still love them. These should be simple to straighten out if needed and they'll be indestructible. I guarantee that if Reaper came out with a dungeon tile set in Bones most of us would be all over it. Hopefully these guys will be the next best thing.

I'm sad to hear that Outrider Hobbies is backing this. I question anything that Outrider has any association with. They are the worst company I've ever dealt with.

Outrider has simply backed this project. He backs a lot of projects. I'm not sure why him choosing to back a project should have any bearing. Outrider is not involved in this project, and neither is Reaper, although we backed it early and for a lot of sets (because a lot of us here want these tiles!).

As far as warping, I'm betting that a simple hot water bath will fix things. We've spoken with Mario in person about his process, and it's going to behave very similar to Bonesium and Dwarvenite in that regard.

I don't see who is backing a project as any kind of an indicator or warning sign of the reliability or integrity of that project.

Absolutely. We have a tremendous amount of confidence and faith in Mario and Frontline games, and I think it is very unfair to judge his project negatively because there may be some bad blood with other people who also backed it.

+1 If someone I don't like shops at Target (for example) it has no bearing on whether I choose to shop there or not. Customer1 <-> Store <-> Customer2 is not a transitive relationship.

I am totally stoked for these, DF is just WAY to freaking heavy and big (because of the walls) to lug back and forth to game stores (not to mention it's a bit pricey). To date I've been printing on paper, cutting, and laminating for most of my maps when I GM. This may not be quite as pretty as DF, but this will finally get me to use tiles!

The only warping I've had with Bonesium is the occasional thin weapon. I've never had a problem with a Bones base or anything thicker. I've never even had a problem with a thin extremity, just thin weapons.

My skeleton archer in the Bones LTPK had a good forward lean to him at the ankles, to the point of making him unable to stand up. Once he sobered up, went through a boil and bend, and an ice water bath, he was fine.

I would be concerned if they were in any way involved with production, but that does not appear to be the (still tacky) case here.

Ive known Mario for awhile and I can assure you guys this project is solid.

I don't mean to suggest that Outrider had any connection to this project. I only meant to say that Outrider Hobbies isn't exactly a ringing endorsement. I backed this in the first couple hours it started (I'm backer #15). I'm delighted to support this Kickstarter! I just don't recommend using Outrider as an endorsement.

Hmm. This doesn't seem to be gaining the early traction I'd have hoped it would. As we get closer to the holidays I think folks are going to find other things placing demands on their money and less to free up for projects like this.

I know it's terribly early in the campaign, but I'm wondering if it would be better for the creators to revisit their tiles designs. Make them double sided to increase their value and usefulness for backers, and then relaunch at a later date.

Darsc, I don't think they'll make the tiles double-sided because then they'd lose the non-skid feature.  I'll check out what their goodies are, though.

I'm not so sure about that LittleBluberry.

From what I can tell, all that the nonskid feature is, is a textured bottom to the tile rather than a smooth one.

With a double sided tile you'd also be having a texture on both sides from whatever is sculpted on them, which should also help prevent the tiles from sliding.

Don't forget the creators themselves said that the no slide feature works best on a cloth surface, and not a bare table. With that it mind I definitely think it should work.

Looking at the video I suspect that they already have some production either done or in motion. I'd also much prefer double sided tiles but the anti-slip design probably has merit. It may be too late to change the design but it would be an improvement. One issue that may come up with double sided use is paint rubbing off. It may not be a big issue but it could be a thing. I honestly don't know as I've never used any game tiles. They're all to heavy, expensive, or fragile for my needs. These tiles knock out all three obstacles. Gimmie gimmie!!
