One thing that bothers me is the lack of certainty of specifically 'what' material type add-ons would be...resin?, metal?, PVC?....If you're going to sell me on the cheaper and lighter aspects it better be cheaper and lighter...aka PVC Bones!

I also would be more interested if all the items were made of PVC.  But cheap is what is at the heart of this KS.

I really have a need for single tile width hallways, not double width.  It seems that most hallways from modules are single width.

Since these tiles are made of a material similar to Bones, I would expect them to be quite easy to cut in half to two sets of two tiles.

I think he first needs to know how much funding he has as well as what pieces backers want. I'm assuming resin for pieces in low quantity, and plastic for those in high quantity. I'm guessing that this is the company's first plastic injection molding project (you can look at their site to make sure), so they might not make a decision until they can firm up the production quotes and quantities needed. Contact him to get a better idea of what pieces are being made of what materials.

OTOH, $1.3K of tiles...

This is my plan. If nothing else, even if they didn't get used for my tabletop DnD game, they'd make fine individual bases for miniatures and projects..

I was on the fence before they announced the double sided, but now, I'm ALL IN!

*I feel like I need to hitch a ride to Vegas, Baby!*

I like the non-stick, but I like the double sided better.

---

As for material, yes I'd rather have the stuff in PVC (Bones like plastic), but I love the smoothness of resin, and don't mind metal, so for the add-on's I'm ok with not knowing until later.

I believe it depends on if there is a volume enough for an individual piece and how well the KS does for them to have the upfront cost for the molds.

I would be willing to bet though that the pieces that are Reaper will either be metal or resin, unless there are plans for Reaper to make these figs in Bones and sell those to Frontline. (And this is speculation, Please, No one from Reaper feel like they need to comment on this speculation, that might take some of the fun out of speculation)

So I'm now very excited for this ride and can't wait to see where the next few weeks take us.

Excellent!

Now I can paint one side of the tile in a mix of greys to represent standard dungeons, and the other side a lighter sandstone colour to represent desert and/or Egyptian style tombs.

That versatility really adds to the value of these tiles.

And since they just made them double sided.  Woohoo!!  That took care of a concern, since the DF tiles have a raised edge, cutting in half was more problematic.  But with these, that shall NOT be a problem.

Couldn't you use the doorways without posts/doors for this?

Ahhh! Great to see them taking backer advice, and now I'm getting added value with the double-sided tiles

Was wondering before if/how to split them for different terrain types, now I can easily do dungeon on one side without having to lose options. Really hoping this takes off!

Double sided for the win!

I'm only in this project for the PVC pieces. Durable, light, hard to damage, easy to paint, cheap. Anything they add in PVC will probably get my money. I jumped all over the extra 40 tiles. Wasn't it you, Darsc, that came up with that idea? Brilliant!

I did suggest it, but the creators reply was that it was an idea they had previously talked about and would reconsider. So yay for that! ::):

Although I was thinking of a more detailed flip side, I can see why the project creators kept it simple, and just adding the grid will really make a difference.
