Thank you Jay!

Love how this turned out.  You did a great job realizing a idea from head to mini.

I appreciate that, thank you :)

Wow he is an interesting figure isn't he, and I don't recall seeing him before. I like your rendition especially his pants. I may have to pick this one up so thank you for sharing.

It's funny, I asked the player in my group for colors, he gave me 90% of the colors of what he'd like to see on him and I ran with it. The pants were totally his idea and I did the best I could for my first free-hand stripes. Glad everyone likes him!

He is a really FUN figure to paint up, nice little details. I think you'd enjoy painting him up as well and I really look forward to seeing your rendition.

"My weapon of choice is... MUSIC!" :bday:

The crossbow really adds to the scene.

Thanks!

It's funny, that's the way he's played. He starts off at a distance with his crossbow and fires off a few shots, and then drops it to start playing some bardic tunes. Originally, I was going to place the crossbow on his back, I even cut it down about 30%, but it was still too large so I figured that I should try a different way of doing it and added it to the base with the crossbow bolts (bits I got from an FRP purchase) on his back instead.

The bard in the last campaign I GMed was pretty much like this too.

Sounds like he likes to start fights and then sit back and just jam out; I like his style.

Heh, yep. But at least his jamming helps the party. His favorite spell right now is Sleep.

Thank you! I hope you do some striped pants as well, I'm looking forward to seeing your version!

Thanks Kharsin! He does fancy himself somewhat of a ladies man, lets see how that goes next weekend when we pick up the game again :P

Happy that you are jumping on the striped pants bandwagon as well! Can't wait to see yours either.

In an unusual turn of events, I ended up painting the same miniature three times this week.  First one was for a customer who wanted the bard from Dark Sword Miniatures but without the pipe in his hand.  So it was replaced with a glowing musical note.  Red armour, blue clothes, yellow cloak.   While I was working on it, a different customer wanted the same bard but just a quick paint job for a sidekick NPC in his D&D game.  Of course, no pipe for the second bard either.  Brown armour, green cloak.  I think I spent more time on the base than painting him.  While I was working on the second one, the first customer decided he didn't like the colour scheme and could I change a couple of things.    No problem, I'm happy to do it.  But there is OSL and all kinds of other stuff, so it was actually much easier just to start again from scratch.  So I painted him a third time.  Red cloak, grey clothes.

Some people might call it Minivember, though technically I had 23 days of vacation and just wanted to paint a mini every day. Some were finishing older minis, some entirely new, some were the size of a nailclipping. I present, my Minivember.

'Tis the season! I posted this a while ago before is got paint on him. Santac'Laus has featured in the Christmas one-shot games I've run for the last couple of years (and this year is no exception). He's gone from villain to lovable (but weird) friend, who rides a manta-ray-shaped sleigh, pulled by a team of beholders.

If you're one of my players, please don't read the spoiler!

The hat, sack and present were all made with green stuff. The snow was made with snow powder mixed with water effects.

I finally finished this project! This was a mini I got a forgotten number of years ago with an order during October. Being as this is a more modern vibe the first thing that came to my mind first is: Make her a neon Witch! This was such a joy to paint. It was my first real attempt at osl and sheer fabric. I used quite a few reaper paints but I will give you the main ones that pulled of the effects that I wanted. If you have other question feel free to ask and I will share with you what I used/did.
      Dominant paints used:
      Punk rock pink 09286
      Marid blue 89526
      Clear magenta 09098
      Regal purple 09238
      Clear purple 09099
      Nightmare black 09280
      Fair skin 09047
      Dark elf skin 09164
      Pure black 09037
      Pure white 09039
Let me know what you think!
