December 2014 Painting / Hobby goals!

Battletech, 4 mechs

CAV probably 2 bones CAVs

maybe some other stuff.

 

Being deliberately vague since this month is shaping up to be a train wreck.

Another month ready to rock and roll!

• Do the diorama for my brother's Christmas present - This has 8 figures total, so it'll be a HUGE undertaking. - Current Progress is at assembly, gap filling and priming. Follow along if you want to. - Current Progress 7/8 figures done and base is about 25% done. I won't be able to finish this month, but I'll get it done by the end of this upcoming weekend (1/4/15)
• Start work on my Giants entry - Going to use the three Reaper Ogres "Tom, Dick & Harry" for this along with another Reaper figure or two. - No progress thus far, but I might do some cleaning up and priming soon. - Current Progress 0%, this will not get done in time, will have to do it for my own fun later on in the year.

I'm going to have some time off around Christmas, so hoping to make some progress. Not going to even try to quantify what that means.

Given I fell flat on my face again in November...not getting even half of what I wanted to done...I'm going to continue being nagged by that list.  If I'm going to go through with my double-plus super-good idea, I'll be looking at:

 

- 1x Bones Dragon [not quite unfinished]

- 3x CAV [2x primed, 1x kitbash in progress]

- 1x Mythos Monsters [blistered]

- 1x Pathfinder figure [blistered]

- 1x DHL Kitbash [blistered]

- 2x ???

 

In addition to getting my 5E figure ready.

This month I'm going to keep it simple.

 

- Finish my Bones Blacksmith

- LTPK 3 NMM

- Another Bones mini that strikes my fancy

December is a tricky month.  On one hand I do have some time off, but on the other there's certain to be some holiday stuff that will cut into the mini painting time. 

 

• Try out some sheer cloth.
• Give glow effects another go.
• Maybe start on learning OSL techniques.
• Finish off the "Dungeon Attack" portion of box so it's not still there when Bones II shows up.
• Paint a miniature from a company that I have not yet painted a mini from.

I'm on the hook for two "how to" videos for a couple of CAV. Really hoping I have time for both.

For the month of December I plan to finish figures I started in November, and paint a Dragon of the Month.

So my painting goals are:

• Paint a Dragon of the Month for December. This will probably be my Mithril Smaug figure.
• Finish painting 14 US soldiers for Mars Attacks
• Finish painting 4 civilian heros for Mars Attacks
• Paint two minis to give away as Xmas gifts.

Thats about all I can handle for the month of December.

I'm thinking that once my collection of bases arrives with my Bones 2 shipment...for which I cannot wait...I'm going to spend a day where I just straighten, rebase and do some light green stuff to all of my Bones undead and then do some mass speed painting.

Now that's an idea.  I shall add to my list:

• Paint a miniature from a company that I have not yet painted a mini from.

Of course, I was planning to do that anyway, but setting and meeting another goal will look more impressive.
