Darkrelease
Ok I know a lot of people buy Drop bottles and transfer their paints over to them. I'm having a problem finding a place that will sell them here. Do you guys buy them at hobby stores? craft stores? pharmacies? Anyone got an idea of where I could go to look? zaphod
Perhaps if you search for "Dropper Bottles" instead... Sorry, just being a wiener! Western Plastics Griffon Games I just did a Google search for "paint dropper bottles"... :D Hope this helps.
Rodnik
Fantization (sp?) sells empty vallejo bottles. I find these especially useful. Kev www.fantization.com
pae
The WarStore also sells them.
Digital M@
I refuse to buy them. I have seen them in store for $1 ea. To me that is just an &%^$ ripoff. I want to check out a local Science & Surplus store and see what bottles they have in stock. Plastic bottles there are usually about .20$. Digital M@
After following Zaph's links, I see not Vallejo bottles are much cheaper.
pae
I bought a few dozen from a pharmaceutical supply company, and they were under 50 cents each. Of course, the shipping charges brought them up to more like 75 cents each. Maybe if you buy enough of them, it's not too bad. For now, I'm just buying Vallejo paints until the new Reaper paints come out. Then again, I probably won't buy more than a few more paints between now and then. I already have close to 100 paints as it is. And I just started this madness back in October.
Kamui K
Your best bet is order from western plastic like Glyn suggested. But it's really worth it if you order about 100 bottles and just split it up with your local painters.
Darkrelease
Good deal, I called Western Plastics and had them put together an order for me. 27 cents a bottle for 1 oz dropper bottles. Much better prices then anything else I could see. Thanks Zap.
zaphod
Hey you bet. As long as you can put up with my rapier-like wit.
Dancin'Debby
I got mine from Western Plastics as well. 1/2 oz. boston round with dropper insert and cap I ordered 100 of them and it came to less than 33 cents each (including the shipping charges). I still have some left over. The fun part was trying to get the Reaper and GW paints into the bottles What a pain! debby
pae
The hardest thing for me about getting the Reaper paints into the droppers was to get the skull out of the pot. Using a plastic coffee stir stick (I grabbed a bunch from work), I was able to direct the paint into the bottle, and then scrape the stubborn paint out of the pot. Use a separate stick for each color, though. I didn't make any messes at all!
Mengu
I think Debby was using a toothpick as a stopper for the skulls so they didn't pour out. Also be very careful when pouring inks, better yet, don't even attempt to transfer them. You end up spilling half of it out anyway.
7thunders
Question: does the paint,in the dropper bottle dry out in the dropper often? I have a bunch of GW paints. I like them, but I have to use a glass bead as an agitator, and keep putting water in them. I would order some myself,if they are better. Digital M@
I have 20-30 dropper bottle paintes. About 20% of them have issues with the tip clogging. I keep some extra wire around to clear the tops. For some reason the same bottles clog over and over no matter how many times I clear them. Still better than pots (IMO)
