Frankthedm
http://www.sciplus.com/ Drop Dripper At last, a dropper bottle small enough to carry in your pocket. Under 2-1/2" tall x 3/4" dia, including the one-piece dropper-cap, the 8 ml bottles are all white LDPE plastic. Some have white caps you flip up to open. Some have blue caps you squeeze to open. It doesn't matter, though, since both styles close tightly, and open to release (1) drop of fluid at a time. 33983 DROPPER BOTTLES $2.50 / PKG(10) they also have these Unfortunatly Will you ship outside the US?Sorry, we are able to ship (and mail printed catalogs) only to the US, its territories and possessions, and APO or FPO addresses. Mengu
7thunders: In my experience, the paint doesn't dry in the dropper bottles, and I haven't felt a need for an agitator. DM@: I have experience the same thing initially. It could be a bad tip, so trying swapping out the tip with another one (if you have extras). Always store your bottles right side up. Also add some extender into your paint bottles. One or more of these tips should help.
Digital M@
Thanks Mengu, I will try adding some extender to the troublesome bottles, I am so used to clearing the tip that I had not even thougt about trying to fix the problem.
kkoene
I have 20-30 dropper bottle paintes. About 20% of them have issues with the tip clogging. I keep some extra wire around to clear the tops. For some reason the same bottles clog over and over no matter how many times I clear them. Still better than pots (IMO) I have the same issue. I too keep wire around, i have found that wire with a gauge slightly bigger than the opening does the job, and the tips wont clog for quite some time. FreeFall
Frank, have you tried the bottles you listed from Science Surplus? I might give them a try, but wanted soem first hand info. Here's my problem with Western Plastics. When I tried to order they gave me a hard time about only wanting 200! Top that off with the fact that they won't take a credit card. And it would take 3 weeks to get them. I finally gave up. I think they have the best product, but hey were less than helpfull.
Digital M@
How did you even find part numbers at Western Plastics? It seems either I am an idiot (which I do not doubt) or their site sucks.
Darkrelease
oh their site sucks big time, the drop bottles come in 1/2 oz and 1 oz, I know this cause I called them. And I asked them for an order of 50 and had no problem with it whatsoever, in fact I asked if they had a min order and they said no. However, the part about no credit card is accurate, I'm waiting for them to send me a bill so I can send them a money order or cheque to pay for it. Yes it will take a while but given the price of 27 cents vs paying $2 a bottle for vallejo empties I will wait.
Dancin'Debby
Yeah M@ their site leaves something to be desired. you're looking for 1/2 oz Boston Rounds with dropper insert and lid. You can get the 1 oz size, but the 1/2 oz it closest to the Vallejo bottle size (just 2 ml smaller I believe). GW paints fit great n the 1/2 oz, you usually have a little left over paint with the Reapers. With WP you can't pay on-line. I had to call and write a check, they wouldn't even take a Credit card over the phone (of course this was last summer maybe they've changed, but I doubt it). Hope this helps, debby Doh, DR beat me to it.

gwawl
The person I dealt with at Western Plastics was very nice. I used e-mail to get all my order info, sent off a check and had my bottles in a week. I found the openning in the dropper insert to be two small for paint so I drilled out all but the ones I use for inks. It may sound like a lot of trouble to go through but it took me 10 minutes to drill 90 inserts and I now have very few clogging problems. the paint still comes out in controlled drops. Also, to help reduce clogging, after using a paint bottle I cap it and tap the bottom on my desk. This dislodges paint from the nozzle back into the bottle.
