When did they change from Warpstone to Wyrdstone? Or is it not the same stuff?

The gobbo looks good!

I think the Skaven call it Warpstone in Warhammer Fantasy, and for some reason it was referred to as Wyrdstone in Mordheim.  I've never been clear as to why.

I think it is because The Empire is sort of in denial regarding The UnderEmpire. Briefly:

  • Background: Mordheim was a human city located in a human realm known as -THE- Empire. The official party line at one point is that there are no Ratmen, there is no Underempire, no such thing as vile Skaven... the Emperor has it all under control.

  • The plot to the game: Mordheim now lies ruined by some strange magical event that left lots of this glowy green magic rock crystal all over the place. Wizards want this stuff to experiment with. It is incredibly valuable.

  • Problem: No one who lives topside can openly say they are hunting warpstone, as this would amount to admitting that the rumoured Skaven exist and that all the human warpwyrdstone hunters are seeking that vile stuff the rumoured Skaven adore and slaver after. So, Wyrdstone.

He is a COOL Little Dude as only a Goblin can be...being totally objective even though I am a Goblin Guy myself.  Your brushwork is OUTSTANDING...love his eyes. VERY WELL DONE!

Or I could be completely wrong: the difference between Warpstone and Wyrdstone from WFB could be like the difference between (Earthly)  Terrestrial Iron and Meteoric Iron.

One is found in mines but the other falls from the sky.

Thanks, Malefactus! I will check it out.

As a Mod over at Tom's (I'm DeafNala there) I may be ever so slightly biased, but I think you'll find Tom's a pleasant hang out. AND the Golden Tom Trophies are GORGEOUS.

      Hi chums!

This is the latest Kickstarter project, expanding our fantasy range this time, and bringing light to the ones we have that might not have been noticed. Along with some super cool female minis, we have some brand new scenics too, and a whole bunch of add on bundles.
I'll post more on the lead up, but for now if you're interested, could you click the "notify me" on the pre launch page and it will help the algorithms, and you know algorithms are the new gods!

The term was introduced into evolutionary biology by L. A. Borradaile, who described it as "one of the many attempts of Nature to evolve a crab".  1916.
It is believed to have independently occurred 5 times.

      or a wizard did it.

this was a 45min conversion at reapercon hobby hijinx tables. Made from an angel, drider and flail snail, painted as hermit crab.

if I did another, it would be easier to paint the drider as a sea-elf instead of adding a new mini.   Not sure why I would want a second, but it was fun to make!

Next in line: 77049, Bones Arthrand Nightblade, Elf Ranger.

I tried priming with a 1:1 mix of Blue Liner:White Brush On Primer.  There were a few mold lines and casting valleys that showed up.  I put a layer of Brush On Sealer on them.  We’ll see how that worked.

Venomous Flowers by PrintYourMonsters.  These are 3d resin prints.  Of course, they might also be only harmless spring flowers on some sci-fi world.

The smallest one is a bit over 1" across, the largest is taller than a humanoid figure.  Overall I've been very happy with the Plants and Rocks files.

Wanted to continue working on my Underworld stuff, but didn't fancy the last two minis I had left in the previous thread, so thought I'd roll them into a new one.

This time we've got 10 randomly chosen minis, the two dudes from the last thread and the whole Sea Elf team (They felt too fragile to pack away after I built them).

Here we have Cyrille and Celine (A pair of Elven Peacekeepers) and Snoz a Goblin Scout with his wolf Fang.

This set consists of Zellotl (Lizardman Warrior), Freshly Awake (a newly risen Skeleton), Frilna (a companion beast to the Fey Elves), Sorcha (battle-hardened Mercenary) and Ailithir (Evil Knight).

Yrkill and Jafari (from the previous thread) plus their companions Sigmundur and Sethos (because someone or something is determined to have me paint these particular teams). Sethos isn't an Underworlds figure but is a matching Cultist from the OOP Warhammer Quest:- Silver Tower game on an old resin base I found.

And this is the Sea Elf team.
We've got Gaelin (he's a Fish), Tanjaya (the Warrior at the back), Indra (a Summoner), Surya (a Harpooner with no eyes) and Orym (he's a Crab).

      Making a start on Sorcha:-

Painted the furry collar on her cape.
It's a base of Cold Grey with a Black Wash and the drybrushes of Cold Grey, Ghost Grey and Off-white (Only on the upper shoulder bits).

Not sure if I should paint her head next or the armour that's close to it, either way I think I'll make a mess.
