Talae
The intent of this thread is to state a movie or a few movies you have seen recently or plan to watch soon. Try to include some explanation of why and if you have seen it before. My intent is to focus on movies already available and not on hype of movies not yet released. I will start: Many of the movies I watch are movies I watched as a kid and my wife never saw. Last night we watched Robin Hood: Men in Tights. It was just as funny as I remembered it. The Fly is on the short list for the wife to see...even though she is reluctant due to being anti-scary movie.
dsmiles
Just watched The Dark Crystal and Labyrinth today, because we were talking about Muppets, and it seemed appropriate. And depending on your definition of soon, I plan on seeing Paddington when it comes out in January.
Moderator Darsc Zacal Posted December 21, 2014 Moderator Share Posted December 21, 2014 I recently watched Django for the first time. For the most part I enjoyed it as it's over-the-topness violence was expected. Also saw the Iron Giant for the first time just a few days ago. I thought the animation was very well done and held up well for its time. The story was... okay I guess.

Talae
I really enjoyed Iron Giant. It is one of my favorite kids' movies. Labyrinth is one I was tempted with today as well, but we left the house at 11:30 and got home around 10:00. Not much movie time.

Coincidentally I bought the combo set featuring those two movies just last week. Haven't watched them yet although I have seen the Dark Crystal many many many years ago. Never have watched Labyrinth.

Talae
I should add 12 Monkeys to the list of plan to watch soon. It has come up in conversations a few times and it has been quite a while.
dsmiles
I watched that one a couple of weeks ago. It held up pretty well. I am having a hard time waiting for The Gunman, and the Minions movie. EDIT: I'm about to watch Kung Fu Hustle. Sanael
I recently watched The Shipping News. It's got Kevin Spacey, Julianne Moore and Dame Judi Dench as a bunch of Newfoundlanders (well, Spacey isn't so much native Newfie) and Cate Blanchett as a Jersey Shore reject. And a nice little script. It's been a while since I enjoyed a random movie so much.
pcktlnt
Recently watched: Drive Why I watched it: I just threw a tiny ball of poster tack and it stuck to the spine of this blu-ray case. (yea, this is how I choose movies to watch) After watching: I liked the premise and character idea more than I liked the movie. *tosses poster tack* Next on watch: The Wolf on Wall Street @Talae wooo! Robin Hood Men in Tights, showed it to my students and a good majority enjoyed the movie. @dsmiles, Axe Gang! (I think it's the intro), *shuffle shuffle* ^__^
Dai-Mongar
Just watched Christmas Vacation. Kind of a family tradition even though I'm not home this year. Wife isn't a fan, so I watched it while she was still at work.
