etherial
Saw Fant4stic today. The bad parts weren't nearly as bad as the bad parts of Fantastic 4 (2005), but the good parts were more or less nonexistent. I was surprised that I could stand Miles Teller's Reed Richards, I usually want to punch any character he plays. Michael B. Jordan was good, but it's really hard to compete with Chris Evans (he's so dreamy). Kate Mara's Sue Storm was too cutesy; she was much better in House of Cards.
Talae
I heard that the latest version was originally made as a different movie and then changed at the last minute. I felt like the movie could have been an okay movie if you got rid of the Fantastic Four parts and just had a fringe science Indy movie.
Inarah
Word is that the studio execs didn't get along with the Director, and halfway through filming the Producers re-wrote and re-filmed parts of the movie. They left out a lot of the character and team development that makes the 4 work. So they ended up with a scrambled mess and crappy rushed effects at the end. We saw Storks last night. It was cute and sentimental, and had all the kids in the theater giggling at the slapstick routines. The story was light and predictable, and would mostly appeal to younger kids. Lots of action adventure, nothing scary, even the wolves were cute.
redambrosia
Bought tickets for doctor strange, 10:30am showing on Saturday. The theater redid the seats and they're all posh recliner seats. They also have reserve seating, so we're guaranteed the seat Husband insists on.

Erifnogard
Dr. Strange was amazing! Just as trippy and visually arresting as it should be. If you see no other Marvel movie in 3D, then see this one in it.
Crowley
Dr. Strange was amazing! Just as trippy and visually arresting as it should be. If you see no other Marvel movie in 3D, then see this one in it. Saw it in 2D, but it was still amazing! And as ever, people leaving before the after credits scene... COME ON PEOPLE?!?! WHAT THE ELF?

I stopped a couple of guys from leaving after the first end scene because I knew there were two. They thanked me afterwards. I don't leave most movies till the credits finish rolling but I for sure don't leave a Marvel movie before the screen goes black and the house lights come up.
KruleBear
Watched Zootopia several times last weekend. The three year old liked it and I was pleasantly surprised and enjoyed it. Although the typical Disney preachiness was a little annoying at times.
haldir
As tradition calls upon, seen Dr Strange with my son last night. We see every Marvel movie in the theater together. Awesome flick, BC is a perfect pick for Dr S. I can't wait to see it again on blu-ray when it comes out. trailers were R1, Life, & GotG2 (now that one was funny) Next up: Rogue One!!
Talae
Dr. Strange this weekend was the hope, but a sick kid has prevented that. Instead, we watched Book of Life last night. Due to today's date, I am thinking we will watch V For Vendetta tonight after the kids go to bed.
Moderator Darsc Zacal Posted November 6, 2016 Moderator Share Posted November 6, 2016 I think Rogue One will likely be the next movie I see in a theatre.
aku-chan
Another of this years superhero movies ticked off the list, X-men: Apocalypse. I liked it, but I also liked X-men: The last stand, so I'm pretty sure my opinion is invalid.
redambrosia
Doctor Strange was fantastic! Cumberbatch makes a funny arrogant bastard. The movie was hilarious, there was much laughter in the theater. Trailers for Wonder Woman, Rogue One, Power Rangers, and Guardians of the Galaxy 2 were all very enjoyable. His cape totally stole the show. Our next theater movie is gonna be Moana. I love me a princess birthday movie.
