Finally watched Avengers:- End Game.

Considering how meh I was about Infinity War, I thought this one was surprisingly good. Still had a few issues though:-

Spoiler

Thanos's plan is still pretty stupid. Honestly I think they should have just stuck with the whole thing just being him trying to woo Death with a grand romantic gesture like in the comics.

Plus unpoofing everyone is kind of a bad idea too. The film frames it as everything returning to normal, but it's been five years, there's got to be tons of issues with the planets population doubling instantly (food shortages, mass unemployment, people returning only to find their significant others have moved on, etc.) plus all the people who died anyways because they were originally poofed in a moving vehicle.

At least I'm finally all caught up, I've been a film or two behind on these since the first Avengers film I think, until they decide what they're going to do about the Black Widow movie.

We watched Infestation last night, a really fun low budget comedy horror movie with giant insects. Highly recommended for monster movie fans.

Also trying to watch all of the mission impossible movies, watched 1 and 2 earlier this week.  1 was pretty good,  2 was very John Woo and more of a silly James Bond clone.

We've been watching the old TV version on DVD, off and on.

I like the TV version better, feels like a good adult RPG group, where not all the players can make it every week, so they swap out the characters. ::D:

It's not all about one PC. It's a party, even if one PC is definitely the party leader.

Plus I don't feel like punching Phelps in the face like I do Cruise. I used to like Cruise, now I don't know WHY.

Watched Clash of the Titans yesterday (the old one, with Harry Hamlin). Been decades since I'd seen it all the way through, I honestly didn't remember the first half of the movie. Had forgotten how many faces were in that movie.

Debating whether to rewatch the 2010 remake of it to refresh the mind. I recall blocking a lot of that movie out, except for the parts with Mads Mikkelsen.

I can't believe the actor died. ::(:

It was a shock for many, me included. He seemed like such a great guy and was on his way to having his career pushed to the next level. From what I have read, he was very intentional about not sharing information so that people wouldn't focus on the negative parts of the disease. He also seems to have done some decent charity in the world of children's cancer - both donations and volunteer work.

We watched it too and had a little toast to Chadwick at the beginning. He was an awesome actor and seemed to be a genuinely nice guy as well. He will be missed.

We watched Bill & Ted Face the Music. It’s available for purchase on Vudu, which my mother in law did.

I’d post a video of my baby dancing to the credits music, but we aren’t allowed to. She loved it.

I thought it was really great. The girls they got to be their kids were fantastic.

Has she said her first words yet? If she hasn't, and if you are running a pool on what they are, I'd like to claim "Excellent!" and "Wooaaaah!"

Saw The New Mutants today... Decent film, not as terrible as some were predicting. It's not so much a "horror" film (like the way it was being marketed) as a horror-flavored comic book film. Interesting take on the characters, and what might have happened if someone other than Professor Xavier had found them first.

The backstories of most of the kids were basically the same as the books, although they chose to make a few tweaks to accent the darker aspects of them.

There are a handful of Easter eggs in the film (that fans of the comics will pick up on) that tie it more closely into the larger X-Men universe.

Spoiler for those who never read the comics:

Spoiler

Probably the one thing that irked me a bit was the fact that the brief bit of exposition that "explains" Illyana's powers doesn't really cover the Soulsword or Lockheed... Which it could have with about another minute of film. Hell, I could write the four sentences of dialogue it would have required.

Considering it didn't have commercials, I'm gonna say this is the latest movie(again) I've seen. ::D:

I saw the movie originally at the local theater with my son (a tradition for us).

BP was good movie, was it favorite amongst the MCU movies, not really. That said, I did like Boseman's performance as BP & MBJ as Killmonger.

Looking forward to Black Widow & beyond for the MCU. I wonder how they'll go about putting BP into that universe now thou.

I agree with Boseman's performance, but I thought MBJ was the worst part of that movie. I felt he overacted the part. I haven't seen any of his other work, which hopefully better reflects his ability (both Creed movies are on my list to watch), but after seeing his performance, it hasn't put me in a rush to see them.

And there is no way I am watching that horrid 2015 Fantastic Four reboot.
