Kuroneko
We picked up the extended versions a couple of years ago, as housemate loved the original versions. They're very good, but I'm really glad that we could watch them at home and not in the cinema as the extended running time means that certain....um....comforts must be taken into account Of course, once you've watched them they're also an excellent media to have on in the background whilst hobbying.
Sirithiliel
so far on extended versions: Fellowship of the Ring - additions were subtle and hard to pick out, it had admittedly been a long time since i've seen the theatrical release but i think this movie didn't have as much added to it 1 hour into Two Towers - Lots of additions i notice already, really give some character to the characters. More scenes of Gollum with Frodo and Sam, more scenes of Merry and Pippin with the Uruk-Hai, and some quite amusing additional footage of Gimli in fangorn forest. Still only an hour in though, so but so far i'm seeing more new stuff than i remember Edited December 24, 2020 by Sirithiliel
haberfront
Planning to watch Home Alone 1-4 this Christmas eve with a friend. Hopefully she won't back out.

Sirithiliel
Finished two towers extended version. Quite a bit more scenes I don't remember seeing before, the friendships between Gimli and Legolas, and Merry and pippin, were quite a bit more fleshed out. I quite enjoyed the extended scenes of the Ents, Isengard and fangorn forest, they felt like they added a lot to the story I also enjoyed seeing the additional footage of the horse that eventually rescues aragorn, rather than just being a random horse that comes and find him Edited December 25, 2020 by Sirithiliel
redambrosia
Hubby and I watched a really good post apocalypse movie last week called Love + Monsters. Really great take on human interactions in dark times, highly recommend.
ManvsMini
I just finished The Beastmaster, given the supposed-death-turned-hospitalization of Tanya Roberts. Still enjoyable, and of particular note for an 80s fantasy movie is that she is not the most scantily-dressed character in the movie; that distinction goes to Marc Singer.
Pegazus
So I have a quest to watch the top three movies every year I have been born. Tonight was Enter the Dragon. Uh.., that was interesting. Funny. Little cheesy.
aku-chan
Watched The Black Hole tonight. People are right, that is a really weird ending.
Pegazus
While building the new computer yesterday I watched Jaws, Crocodile Dundee, and Platoon. Jaws held up very well and I found myself watching for 20 minutes before remembering what I was trying to do. Crocodile was not quite as charming, and Platoon was a war movie.
redambrosia
We watched Night of the Demons last night. I guess it’s the remake. It was awful, truly, wonderfully awful. Hubby said it had less gore and more fan service than the original, but I dunno  Good if you want something stupid to watch!
KruleBear
Son and I are watching LEGO Star Wars All Stars. Roger is a hoot. Needed a little levity and this provided it.
redambrosia
Hubby and I went to the theater yesterday and saw Wonder Woman 1984. (Yes, the theater here is open, I dunno how, because they have to have limited seating, and folks hardly go away, but it open.) I really enjoyed it, there were a couple little things that detracted from it a bit, but overall, I really enjoyed it. The mid-credits scene made my life!!!
Crowley
After The Falcon and The Winter Soldier trailer from last night, I rewatched The Winter Soldier, and today I'm in the middle of Age of Ultron.
aku-chan
Tried watching Jojo Rabbit last night but just couldn't get into it. I think the subject matter may have crossed a line I didn't realise I had.
