It was awful, truly, wonderfully awful. Hubby said it had less gore and more fan service than the original, but I dunno  Good if you want something stupid to watch! Many, many years ago, there were rumors that one of the more popular actors of the '70s (Frank Langella) had been forced by contractual obligations to play Skeltor in Masters of the Universe. Which was a terrible, terrible movie. A few years ago, I caught an interview with Mr. Langella, talking about his movies... care to guess which one is his absolute favorite? If you enjoy bad movies, I can recommend Masters of the Universe, if only so you can enjoy Frank Langella giving in to all his worst ham instincts, and really enjoying himself. (Sadly, he was the only one - if the other actors had embraced their inner hams, it could have been so much better. They... just didn't want to be there. He, on the other hand, had a four year old son - who loved masters of the Universe.) The Auld Grump - Strangely, Megan did not enjoy that movie nearly as much as I did. aku-chan
Last night I watched The Thing, the prequel to The Thing I accidentally brought instead of The Thing. Not as bad as I thought it was going to be, although it was surprising how poorly the 10 year old CGI effects held up compared to the 40 year old practical effects of the original. It was funny at the end Spoiler where they suddenly remember there were no female crew members at the Norwegian base in the original so the surviving leading lady just kinda disappears.
ManvsMini
I needed a break from well-financed fantasy movies and went low-budget last night with the first Mythica movie. It was about what I was expecting, not great, but not the worst I ever saw. Pretty standard plot for a fantasy movie, reminiscent of the '80s sword and sorcery genre, some plot holes for sure. I'm game to watch the next one at some point, might even make it through all five of them.

redambrosia
I just watched the 2020 version of Emma. I have to say, it’s easily my favorite version of the story that made it to film. Not only is it a gorgeous costume piece, but the story is treated with witty delicacy, as it deserves. Bill Nighy does an amazing job as Emma’s father and Anya Taylor-Joy plays Emma to perfection. The unsung hero’s of the film are the long suffering, exasperated footmen though! They absolutely steal every scene where they get to roll their eyes are the ridiculousness of the rich folks they serve.
aku-chan
Watched Train to Busan. It was good if rather bleak, except Spoiler considering how many people died due to his selfish jerkiness, the bully businessman character got off way too lightly, I was hoping they were saving a particularly gruesome fate for him, but nope.
aku-chan
And now I've watched Bill and Ted Face the Music. Didn't think much of it, and I'm beginning to suspect my brain was lying to me about how much I liked the first two (I haven't seen them since they were released).
Pegazus
The Emperor’s New Groove is so much better than Disney’s Hercules. For some reason I had them the other way around. Just a couple of movies I watched this last week.

redambrosia
Both of them are fun IMO. They each have different things to offer. Hercules, for example, has Hades and the Muses. Emperors New Groove has the poison. The poison for Kuzco. The poison chosen especially to kill Kuzco. Kuzco’s poison. That poison. 4

Crowley
Friday we watched The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel. I watched it when it first came out.. or maybe first came out on DVD... loved it then, loved it again. Saturday we watched The Second Best Exotic Marigold Hotel... which... was okay? Really it was fine, but watching it immediately after the first, it just fell flat.
