Had some time over the weekend, so my dad and I got together and watched Gladiator and The Last Samurai together, stuff that the girls wouldn't really enjoy.

Gladiator was fine, but in my opinion it's just really sad. Not just in Maximus's personal story, but also - these people are brutally murdering each other just to amuse people.

But The Last Samurai... Dang, I like that movie. A lot less bloody than the former as well.

Grump pointed something out to me, I don't know if it makes things better or worse.

The gladiatorial battles were also human sacrifices to the gods.

Just watched Invader Zim: Enter The Florpus on Netflix.  Good way to spend an hour and ten minutes I would argue.

Some things might not make any sense at all to those who haven't watched the series, but on the other hand...  That final fight scene!

Awesome Wife and I watched Nobody last night.  From the people who did John Wick, the fight scenes were top notch as expected.  Story line was similar, retired bad-elf takes up his former ways when random bad thing happens to hi family.  There seemed to be more comedy in this one, so I viewed it as a less 'serious' film than the Wick movies, but I greatly enjoyed it all the same.  Christopher Lloyd's character was awesome and he stole several scenes.  Will watch again.

I finally went to an actual theatre and saw Nobody also and was very pleased (considering the alternative option was Mortal Kombat). It was fun mindless violence.
