redambrosia
Finally watched Black Widow. I enjoyed it quite a bit. David Harbour was great as comic relief, which I personally needed. I get too emotional at the thought of babies not being given the love they need, even in a fictional setting.
aku-chan
Once again I've been reminded to not revisit the past. Been watching a few Jackie Chan movies lately, I was really into them during the 90's because one of the TV channels used to show them really late at night, some have been okay, some have been awful, but none have been anywhere near as good as I remembered.

No spoilers, but wait until the film runs out. The Auld Grump Finally saw it yesterday. I'm going to go out on a limb and say I feel like it was the best Ghostbusters since the first one. one other thought below, spoiled for consideration of folks who haven't seen it yet, it runs a fun surprise, you have been warned. Spoiler That first stinger was timed PERFECTLY. I had just enough time to think "Wait, where did I miss Sigourney Weaver?" before it started
VitM
We watched the documentary The Last Days on Netflix this past Saturday. Because that seemed like a good idea. Powerful movie; but my love has learned a whole lot about the Holocaust that she never wanted to know and has been having nightmares about it for the past two nights. 2
Inarah
We watched Red Notice over the weekend. It's a heist/comedy/action flick with Ryan Reynolds being himself, Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson being himself, and Gal Godot pouting. The action was mostly tedious and the dialog pretty cliche. Godot does a wet bathing suit scene that will wear out a lot of DVR rewind buttons and almost let you forgive her for singing. If you have time to kill and like Reynold's style of humor, watch Deadpool again. 5
Marvin
The president will not be taking questions w/r/t his state of inebriation at the time of viewing but can confirm that he had a very good time.
aku-chan
Watched Labyrinth last night. Wasn't a fan when I was young, but grown up me thinks it's a pretty good movie. I'll have to try The Princess Bride again one day, see if my opinion of that has improved too.
aku-chan
Still working through that big pile of secondhand DVD's I brought. Last night was the old Stallone version of Judge Dredd, which was, surprisingly, not a bad movie. Dredd himself was too much of a generic action hero (with comedy sidekick to boot) instead of the weird, faceless avatar of Lawful Neutral he is in the comics, but that's the films only real misstep.
VitM
We watched A Boy Called Christmas on Netflix last night. It was enjoyably cute; though I'm pretty sure they murdered a troll during the prison break. Which, as John McClane taught us, Christmas and murder are inseparable.
CaptainPete
I decided to watch Passengers. It was okay. I mean, the visuals were great and I liked the concept of someone waking up on accident but... The whole "waking another person up because I'm lonely" made me very uncomfortable. I finally got around to watching Alexander: Director's Cut. It was okay. Again, great visuals. But more things that made me comfortable and some very interesting choices with the story. I didn't like the jumping around in the narrative, it was hard to keep track of at times. And I started to fall asleep towards the end. Partly due to exhaustion and partly due to how lost I was feeling. I may have to give it another try when I'm not tired.

If you haven't seen Dredd with Karl Urban, you might find that more true to the comics, and I enjoyed it. Definitely the faceless avatar of lawful neutral justice. I still like the Stallone version too, on my list to watch again.

I enjoyed the directors cut and even though I own the DVD, I doubt I will rewatch it. I find it more enjoyable to watch the battle scenes on YouTube. Wrapped up a few movies the past few weeks while messing around at the painting desk. Rewatched Tombraider Craft Of Life. Simple brain candy which was fine for background noise. Heavy Metal 2000…still pretty mediocre. And a new one for me, wAtched the Virginian with Trace Adkins. Ok, but not great. More like a long TV western from the 70’s. Good background noise filler. And started Outlander last night. Got into it and stopped painting and watched the movie instead. Not sure why I hadn’t heard of this one before. What isn’t to like: vikings, alien soldiers, “dragons”, decent effects, and good acting. An under rated gem in my book.

It has the better Dredd, but the rest is a bit too toned down and "realistic", still a good film though. Hopefully one day there'll be a third attempt that combines the best of the previous two. 4

I agree with this statement but I still want to own it. The last time I went looking for it on DVD, it wasn't affordable.
