Not sure why I hadn’t heard of this one before. What isn’t to like: vikings, alien soldiers, “dragons”, decent effects, and good acting. An under rated gem in my book. Outlander is awesome, the only thing I didn't like about that movie was the volcano caves near the end, and only because being from Norway I know those do not exist. So a very nitpicky complaint from me.

It will definitely deserve a rewatch in the future.
Jasper_the_2nd
Went to the new Spider-man on Sunday, and the new Matrix tonight. I liked them both quite a bit. My wife liked Spidey a lot more than the Matrix though.
aku-chan
Watched Star Wars - The Rise Of Skywalker today, and (Controversial opinion incoming) I thought it was one of the best movies in the franchise. (The best bit of Star Wars overall is still Season 2 of Star Wars:- Rebels). It's a shame the future of the franchise seems to be TV series that I'll never see because I'm too cheap to get a Disney+ subscription.
CaptainPete
I bought Mars Attacks! and plan on watching today before bed. This weekend will probably be a marathon of Attack Of The 50' Woman, Queen Of Space, and The Giant Behemoth. If you're sensing a theme, you're probably right... 4
Jasper_the_2nd
We watched Major Grom - Plague Doctor (Netflix) on the weekend. Pretty sure it was Russian, and sort of a cop/super hero(ish) sort of thing. Fairly entertaining but definitely had a different feel to it. I'd watch a sequel.....
redambrosia
Finally got around to watching Eternals, Encanto, and Luca. Oh, and Coco, though that was more because my kidling wanted to watch it. She loves that movie. Anyway, while Eternals wasn’t the strongest Marvel film, it also wasn’t the weakest. It was alright to watch. Should have had more John Snow in though. Encanto and Luca both wonderful films, though I felt like Luca should have been stop motion clay for some reason. I figured the plot to Encanto pretty early on, but my kinder loved it and the music. Antonio legit got the best gift. Luce was particularly great, it’s very different as a Disney film, which is great. I love how much Disney has been stepping outside it’s princess box lately and been making a wider range of films. I hope they keep doing that. I should check to see which voices Alan Tudyk did in those films 😆
Citrine
We watched the new Dune movie and I thought it was really great, and I am looking forward to the second one in the fall of 2023. Also the ornithopters were super awesome and I want one!! 4
aku-chan
Rewatched Krull last night. I don't care what the rest of the world says, I still think it's a good movie. 7

Jasper_the_2nd
Re-watched Highlander last night (somehow my wife had never seen it.). It hasn't aged particularly well. Queen's soundtrack still rocks though.
CaptainPete
I ended up watching all of the MonsterVerse movies this weekend, in chronological (not release) order. This is almost heresy but Kong: Skull Island is probably the best movie you can watch out of the series without seeing any of the others. King of the Monsters is probably my favorite one out of all of them. Godzilla is, sadly, the weakest of the bunch. In other news. Planet of the Vampires is showing up today. Hopefully, I can resist trying to watch it today and wait until tomorrow.
aku-chan
Rewatched Meet The Robinsons (I found the DVD for 10p in a charity shop yesterday). I've always found it a pretty decent underrated Disney movie, but now my brain has somewhat spoiled it by pointing something out Spoiler Unless Louis eventually sacrifices Goober to an existence as a bitter, twisted crazy old man their whole world is trapped in a time loop. Stupid brain, always thinking too much!
aku-chan
While everyone else is watching the new Dr. Strange movie, I'm watching Spider-man:- No Way Home. Easily the best of the MCU Spider-man films, which I put down to it having almost no high school shenanigans. Also watched The Wraith, a pretty weird take on the whole 'Ghost gets revenge on his murderers' story, surprisingly watchable though.
