Pegazus
Watched Super Mario Bros today. Solid standard adventure with a large dollop of nostalgia for anyone who had the original NES. Can recommend.
Corsair
We watched Black Adam the other night. Fun movie with a couple good plot twists. I'm just thrilled to see Hawkman finally portrayed as the powerhouse he is in the comics!
Citrine
We watched the Dungeons and Dragons movie, and then John Wick 4 in the theater in the last 2 weeks. They were both great and both outings were free as I had gotten movie tickets from work quit a while back.
TheAuldGrump
We saw Guardians of the Galaxy vol. 3. And it finally happened. The credits started rolling and nobody left their seat. They had the mid-credit scene, and... nobody left their seat. Not a single person left the theater until the credits had finished rolling - Marvel has... taught us well.... WhiteWulfe
I've recently watched... Spirited Away, John Wick, and John Wick 2. Edited May 10 by WhiteWulfe
TheAuldGrump
Saw the trailer for the CG/live action The Little Mermaid.... My main feeling was they missed an opportunity to tie it in with their Pirates of the Caribbean franchise. https://youtu.be/0KQcsWPoazc Mermaids are supposed to be bad news. Much better than all previous adaptations, though I felt like it tried a bit too hard at times. On 4/9/2023 at 7:42 PM, Corsair said: We watched Black Adam the other night. Agree al on fronts with Hawkman (though why Carter Hall seems to be quite wealthy I don't understand), and was very happy with Doctor Fate as well.
Inarah
Watched Winter's Tale, a sweet story of love and loss, featuring demon mobsters and a flying horse in turn of the (previous) century New York. Saw the D&D movie, it was ok. Certainly better than the previous one. Not something I'd watch again. Luck was cute, as was Puss in Boots. Haven't seen Multiverse of Madness or Wakanda Forever.

The Auld Grump Megan's mum came up with an alternative title that gives away the entire plot. But only if you have read Bloom County. Spoiler Guardians of the Galaxy vol. 3: Night of the Mary Kay Commandoes. The Auld Grump Edited May 14 by TheAuldGrump 2 1

I was kind of surprised. Then again, it was one of the few original English language viewings during that week, meaning everyone was likely already a MMU regular. P.S. I loved GotG vol.3 much more than vol.2. Despite Adam 80s Beverly Hills Surfer Dude Warlock shoehorned in instead of being the main antagonist-turn-good-in-the-end.

TheAuldGrump
These Final Hours is a punch in the gut. One of those movies that you are glad you saw, and never want to see again. Not going to spoil it - the full movie is on YouTube, 5/5, will never watch again. The Auld Grump
Moderator Chaoswolf Posted June 27 Moderator Share Posted June 27 We watched the new D&D movie last night. I enjoyed it; it was fun. There were some things 'wrong' with it, but it was 100 times better than the one from 2000, IMO.

I remember being excited and enjoying watching in theater. I was...16 if that 2000 date is correct and never played d&d at that time.
