Evilhalfling
no one saw sucide squad? I was interested in it until I started reading reviews - but it really doesn't look worth the time, money and effort it takes me to go see a movie. Beyond may be worth the husband capital to go see by myself.
mtaylorj89
I really am not that excited about Suicide Squad. Just..from what I've heard, it's more a "rent the DVD" thing than a "spend $20 on tickets alone" thing. I'm more a Marvel girl than DC anyway. xo Tay
Pegazus
no one saw sucide squad? I was interested in it until I started reading reviews - but it really doesn't look worth the time, money and effort it takes me to go see a movie. Beyond may be worth the husband capital to go see by myself. I want to see it, but the rest of the family does not. I know CW watched it, and found it okay. I may hit it sometime this week, as a late evening show, or maybe on my day off. But... I've also got to take a car in for an oil change and several recalls. So that might not happen either. What slightly turned me off on watching was when I heard that after the success of Deadpool and from trailer feedback, they went in to reshoot and add more comedy to it. Meaning the trailer had about all the good parts of the movie. That's never a good sign.
Dilvish the Deliverer
I'm going to go see Suicide Squad (or the new Borne movie) tomorrow. My local theatre has $5 Tuesdays, so that is when I tend to go.
mtaylorj89
this afternoon I'll be finishing the miniseries of Stephen King's Kingdom Hospital. Hadn't seen it for years, sought to download it...Finally found it! It's soooo good. It's been keeping me from painting though! So distracting, so tempting... Must. Paint. xo Tay
Marvin
Was going to go see SS this weekend but bailed. My wife's seen it twice--took the niece once--and loves it, but she has pretty bad taste in movies. Everyone else I know seems to hate it. aku-chan
Already seen a fairly decent Suicide Squad movie in the form of Batman: Assault on Arkham, so I'm in no rush to see this new one. Watched Batman: The Killing Joke last night. The tacked-on Batgirl prequel is kinda weird and doesn't really add anything to the story, but it certainly wasn't as film and character destroying as the Internet claimed it was. Wasn't the best Batman film I've seen (nothing will ever beat Mask of Phantasm), but it was pretty good. Would've rated it a bit higher if I hadn't found the ending so strange.
Inarah
Jason Bourne tomorrow and Suicide Squad next week. I haven't heard much about the Bourne movie, but it's a sequel and an action flick so I don't expect much more than car chases and explosions. I saw that the professional critics hated Suicide Squad, one even commented that it had too much exposition. God forbid there should be dialog or character development in my comic book movie! Not expecting anything more than action, explosions and snappy one-liners.
TheAuldGrump
Not exactly a movie - but tied to one. A bad one. Megan and I are going to start watching the classic Wild, Wild West - the only version that she has ever seen was that horrible move from the nineties. The real Dr. Loveless.... Dilvish the Deliverer
Saw Jason Bourne with Awesome Wife tonight. Good movie. Heavy on the action, not so much on the dialogue. I think I read that Matt Damon only had 25 lines in the whole film. Thinking on it now though, I do have some problems with the motivation of the female agent. Son;t want to go into spoilers here but somethings bother me.
Brother Jim
I watched We're the Millers (2013) earlier tonight on TNT. I liked it, it wasn't laugh out loud a lot funny, but it was entertaining enough I don't feel like I wasted my time.
Chrome
Got to catch parts of two great movies last night on cable. Started with the last half of Clerks II and then got to see about 2/3 of Kung Fu Hustle! I repeatedly forget just how great a movie Kung Fu Hustle is. My son is always asking me what my favorite movies are and it honestly belongs in my top 10. I mean it does it all - hilarious dialog, excellent acting, great special effects - whether they're using them to create serious effects like the swords and ghosts cast by those two assassins, or comical effects like their legs spinning ala the Road Runner cartoons when they run - and most importantly great fight scenes. If you've never seen it, you owe it to yourself to watch it at least once. Just remember that it's a comedy that's also a kung fu flick so you enter w/the right frame of mind.
Inarah
Saw Jason Bourne with friends last night. Entertaining movie with lots of tense action, little plot, and less dialog. Not the best in the series, but worth watching if you like action or are following the story of the previous movies, because there are some reveals. The overall feel I got was that this was a transitional movie, setting up for the next one. @Dilvish, I was wondering the same thing. Side note: As I said, very tense action movie, characters constantly running, chasing, etc not a quiet scene in the entire movie. I got motion sick about halfway through from the constantly moving, bouncing, jiggly camera.
