Conan redux

That they are saying they will offer refunds carte blanche has me severely concerned for their business acumen.

Why? It doesn't mean much because you can still ask your credit card for a refund regardless of this policy -- like that KS scammer did:

"Alex Heberling, a comic artist who recently successfully completed acampaign for her webcomic, The Hues, first came forward with her own experiences yesterday. In a lengthy cross-post on Tumblr and Twitter, she described a single backer, Encik Farhan, who pledged $1000 to her goal and then disputed the charge to his credit card company months later after already receiving his rewards."

Offering refunds is good customer service. The campaign is large enough that some backers wanting refunds isn't going to hurt it. Many backers (not to mention latecomers) expect to increase their pledge after funding, and none of this money will be spent to commit to the overhead costs of stretch goals (ie. no new molds). Most KS sink in the cash midway, so the 60-day window is something of a protection to avoid refunds when cash flow *is* a concern. Personally, I think the 60-day window is more of a *warning* to backers than a feature.

^ That.

Plus some of the greens tbh looked sculpted with resin/metal in mind, so plastics might turn out pretty bad.

To be fair, I was wondering if maybe digitizing the physical sculpts is a QA step. I should be easier to adjust too-fine-for-plastic detail in the digital files. So maybe they've actually got that covered. If anyone wants to bother asking Monolith in hopes of getting an official answer, good luck.

They've mentioned (right from the start) that the sculptors have exaggerated certain aspects of the sculpts in anticipation of the shrinkage that occurs with (this type) of casting,

whether they've done enough? we wait to see, but they have thought of it

Ageera unlocked, next up is an armoured Conan at $2.5 million:

This could be a fantastic looking mini. However, under the WIP shot it says this: "WORK IN PROGRESS by Mikh" I love Mikh sculpts, but I don't think they'll be making any estimated delivery dates. I'm still waiting on his Hroka for Arena Rex, and that was supposed to deliver in Dec 2013.

It's closing in on 24 hours to go, I'm guessing one more stretch goal to be revealed and unlocked by the end, though a big final push could possibly unlock 2.

How many Conans did they have made, yet?

Is it possible to play the different Conans together in one game?

I think it would have been better if they had introduced more new heroes.

I've asked for more info about the bases, but I'm thinking the counterbases could be used as color-coded lipped bases for other games, and hopefully can be used as "base sleeves" with other miniatures...

I'm counting on the upcoming Red Box Games-campaign to fulfill all my barbarian wet dreams.

With Conan coming in cheap, rubbery plastic and RBG minis coming in tempered steel, the choice is real simple for me. :)

      Andowyn Thrushmoor!
It's been awhile since I've painted a plain ol' character miniature. I spent the better part of today working on her and I’m overall pleased with how she came out. I really want to double my skill level by the time Bones V is delivered and I’m proud of my progress! Slowly but surely figuring out how to do faces, this one looks pretty okay, though her right eye is funky.

Since this is my first form post, the picture is her next to my first miniature! It's about four years old and I keep it around the rest of my collection in a place of honor

If anybody here loves cavern terrain and missed DF's first cavern KS KS2, this spring/summer around June DF will have KS6. The theme of KS6 will be Return to the Caverns and should be great fun for those who took part in KS2 or those who are new to DF.

DF had this to say and showed the below teaser pics

We're doing for Caverns what Dungeon of Doom did for Dungeons. A whole new batch of fun pieces to enhance your existing collection, but also completely stand-alone.

      Some of the key features:
New Core Shapes (diagonal wall, convex curves, 1" pieces, etc)
      Passages
Elevation (with stuff that's impossible on graph paper...)
Negative Space pieces (and new Terrain Trays)
      Flashy Pieces (Magnets & LEDs)
      Large pieces (4x4 and larger)

This looks like a very interesting board game with lots of new, fresh ideas and cool artwork (and nice minis - there is even a pledge level for just the minis: around 15 of them for $20 plus shipping):

      About this project

It's a harsh but lucrative business being a mercenary out on the edge of civilization. You must explore the harsh wilderness and engage in deep tactical combat, where the decisions you make have an impact not only on your own character, but also the world around you.

Gloomhaven is cooperative game of card-driven combat set in a persistent fantasy campaign which will change and grow as you play the game.
There is always more to unlock and explore in the world of Gloomhaven.

If you missed the first Gloomhaven Kickstarter (and retail sold out quickly) here is your chance. I backed that game the first time around and could not be happier with the results. Warning ... that box is heavy ...
