I (mostly) solved the problem of not finishing up (hell, not starting, lol) my KS1 box by throwing almost half of them at Aard, lol.  ::D:  Well, okay, technically I handed them to her... (Also, the sci-fi guys and goblins went to some peeps on the forum, and a bunch of other stuff got farmed out to the two younger NEMPA members.)

But pretty much everything I personally didn't need/wasn't fond of/was never going to paint got sent to good homes.

You know, all the 'find a certain type' kind of advice seems to come from those that have.

I'm 45 and haven't found one like that yet... Thanks, though.

I guess.

That's the real argument for "fail fast and try again". Probability of any one person being a good match is low, so you need enough attempts to raise the aggregate probability. (And I agree that advice that implies you should look only for gamers because you're a gamer or whatever is shortsighted.)

Yeah, I'm very blessed in that my fiance thinks all my hobbies are pretty cool. Shes not a gamer herself as she doesn't have the time, but as someone who's into anime she's somewhat curious about it. We met at church. We are very much alike in most things, although as a female she tends to be more worried about hygiene than I am :;): Good luck finding someone

And I'm going to handle my ludicrious Bones II order with paint days at my school! We need to do one dorm activity a semester for theme housing...

My fiancée (and boy is it weird typing that for the first time) is an artist who enjoys painting with me, although she's not into the hobby persay - just likes spending time with me and finds any kind of non-critical art relaxing.

I grabbed the Hill Giants specifically for her ; )

So yeah, it's certainly possible to mitigate any hobby expenses with your partner. In my experience it GREATLY helps to discuss it before purchase and ideally have a budget set aside for said hobbies.

My wife is not a painter or gamer in any way. But she is a very avid cookie decorator and baker. She has FAR more sprinkles, sugars, and cookie cutters then I will ever have miniatures, paints, and tools. And she full well understands the joy of being creative and working to improve your art whatever that may be.

You'll only just be getting used to it and then BAM! You've got to start calling her wife instead.

My wife encourages my hobby, if not my spending. Going to be cool dragging her along to ReaperCon, 'cause I essentially get double swag.
