hungerfan
Does anyone have access to live satellite imagery that we can move over the HQ building and check for any big shipments that show up?
Moderator Chaoswolf Posted January 27, 2015 Moderator Share Posted January 27, 2015 Best to use this time to make progress on your Bones I figures! You know, in case Bones I & II don't get along... Now, that would make an epic diorama! Since I didn't get in on Bones I, I've been filling my weekends making beer for use when I get Bones II. I want to paint at your house! Bring paints, brushes and minis! I'm always looking for excuses to paint. I don't really have much trouble coming up with excuses to drink beer... I'm with Dilvish on this one!
Baphomet69
I haven't decided which will be the first Bones II figure I'll paint. Maybe the new Mister Bones? He would be a fitting choice to usher in the new wave of Bones reinforcements! If I still had my original LTPK instructions, I'd start on Anhurians! :) You know, if they're not going to re-release the original LTPKs, I wish they would provide the PDFs, or even sell just the instruction sheets...

That really does give added incentive to paint more...

I want to do that diorama - I have a 4x8 sheet of plywood that is just calling out for it.... No, I have no idea how to do this. Perhaps bring them and a friend to the local gaming store, tell them we want to use their terrain for a war game, set it it up, take pictures and pack it away... I don't have space to store it long term, I just want the photos. Edited January 28, 2015 by Evilhalfling

Heisler
I'm not sure that you will ever convince Anne to release those old LTPK instructions. She feels that they are very dated and the one Rhonda did for the Bones LTPK is a much better example of what they would like to produce. For the original Anhurians in the LTPK1 the instructions were basically base coat, wash, dry brush, done.

I love my bones L2PK (although for some reason my #2 flat brush sorta disolved?). The only other time I ever painted minis was about 13 years ago and I was using testors paints and had no IDEA what drybrushing was. Needless to say those didnt come out too well lol but so far with this kit I havent produced a single bad skeleton yet! Im trying to paint all my skeletons from bones 1 before I move to the orc instructions.

I did already, actually. :) I've only painted the skeleton from it. I felt like it was a step up in difficulty, and therefore intimidation, from the original LTPK1. The biggest difference was having you mix your own paints. I'm comfortable with it now, but it was a little daunting at first. I would say it's somewhere between basic and intermediate. Call it Painting 104 instead of the Painting 101 that is LTPK1.
Heisler
And that's the kind of feedback that I'm sure Wren would like to hear.

This is probably what I should have done. The skeleton came out pretty sweet so I thought I was ready and moved on to the Orc. That was back in May. I just picked up the brush again to continue with him and felt a bit lost. I should have grabbed some skeletons and painted them up to get back in the groove. It may not have helped that I was painting with my 5 year old and she was working on her Fire Dragon and needing an eye on her at times.
