The towers look similar (if not as fancy) as the ones Geek Chic makes.  (Search for "Geek Chic Entropy Engine", I can't link it.)  I don't think you could effectively use a tower as storage, so I assume you're looking at the boxes?  In which case isn't it more about whether you like the esthetic?

I'm not personally interested, but then again a friend in our gaming group has access to a laser and etched us wine glasses with d20s on them.  He could probably make something similar.

They remind me a little bit of the Dice Towers from one of the first kickstarters I ever backed, Unique Dice Towers. You might want to take a quick look at that projects video just to familiarize yourself with the differences to the one you're considering.

My own concerns with the project your considering is the low cost he's asking from backers, especially considering the amount of laser time required to cut out all those intricate patterns for each tower and the fact he's offering any of the wood choices for the same price.

Seems like there's not a lot of wriggle room for fulfilment costs should something go wrong.

But then again, if you like this new projects towers you wouldn't be risking a lot of money anyway.

For myself I see nothing there that entices me to order from them. I'm quite happy with the fit and finish of the Dice Towers I already have from Unique Dice Towers, and they're smaller and can hold my dice too. :;):

I was thinking the $23 level for a dice box. I think at this point thay is actually two dice boxes and some dice due to stretch goals. I like the gears/cogs design.

Non proven Kickstarters worry me these days. That being said, I am tempted enough that I plan to sleep on it.

Seems awfully coincidental that I was just telling my wife this evening that I need a dice box (since I currently use a Tupperware container).

Dice towers don't overly interest me. Storage does.

In that case the concern would be if the projects creators have estimated their costs correctly.

This is also the third or fourth kickstarter for a dice storage box that I can recall seeing over the past year or so.

I would think there's a strong likelyhood of another project showing up eventually if you don't end up backing this one.

I've backed several KS's that involved laser cutting and I don't recall any of them being this inexpensive; dice towers, buildings, scifi terrain/structures, and even though they all eventually delivered and I was happy with the final product, they all experienced similar equipment problems, power supply problems, delays in getting replacement parts from suppliers, plus just simply the length of time it takes to cut things with the laser. All of which cut into profits.

With the very involved designs the laser is going to have to deal with for each piece shown... I don't know that I could say its too good to be true, but I could see this project creators having to dig deep into their own pockets should the same issues happen to them.
