This is for November 7, 2015. (I thought i would post early instead of the day of this time!) 

 

First off, I just wanted to thank all of you for your support last year despite my poor planning by posting after the event started. You guys are amazing!

 

For those of you that don't know Extra Life is; its a 24 hour gaming marathon fundraiser to raise money for Children's Miracle Network. Once again all money donated to my page will go to the Childrens hospital in Dallas, TX which isn't to far from Reaper HQ.  Our groups event will take place in the DFW area which we stream live and have raffles for different swag from all sorts of companies and individuals that donate. Last year we had a lot of stuff from Barns and Noble as well as handmade dice bags. 

 

For those of you that would like to help out and make a donation:

You can do a one time donation or easily set up a monthly donation to cut off after a number of months of your choosing. You will not have to log back on to cancel it!

Do not feel like any donation would be to small! Extra life is made possible by the thousands of individuals who donate a few dollars when they can. We are a group of gamers hitting up friends and family, not a large corporation getting corporate donations. We are grateful for any donation, sharing this with your friends, or even well wishes!

Hey everyone, getting close to the 24 gaming marathon. I have been donating $10 a month since the original post and will be at $100 at the time of the event. Just wanted to give this a bump since the date is getting closer. We will be doing the live stream with chat again this year and will have more things to raffle off! Your donations will automatically enter you into the raffle. Once again, do not feel like you need to donated $100, do what you can, it all helps. Even sharing my link on your Facebook page to encourage others would be a great help!

      Ghost Stories

      Originally I was going to paint this figure by Nordlys Miniatures with the more simple goal of "a man telling ghost stories around a campfire". I primed the figure with that intent (upside down zenithal). But then the invasion began, and the character's story changed.
       
      The color scene became one mimicking the Ukrainian flag, both to tell the story and honor their determination. The man now stands in front of a fire, ignited in his homeland as he stands in the aftermath of destruction. He has taken up arms, despite not having been a trained soldier before. He watches the night skyline as it briefly glows while bombs drop, but the illumination has a glint of hope as he sees the Ghost of Kyiv fly to avenge the country. He will someday tell his ghost story around a campfire in the future, of what he has seen, never to let it be forgotten.
       
      Kimera's Ultramarine Blue, Warm Yellow, Diarylide Yellow, and Carbon Black are among the most prominent paints on the piece, in conjunction with some from ProAcryl, Reaper, and Scale 75.
      Reaper's Midnight Blue, Corporeal Shadow, and Nightshade Purple form the basis for the darker blue regions and the shadows. Muddy Soil was the foundation for the eyebrows. Foggy Gray was the base for the whites of the eyes.
      ProAcryl's Transparent White and Transparent Orange are used heavily for the reflection, and amplifying highlights and deepening yellow areas. Bold Titanium White was the white of choice for opaques. Tan Flesh and Shadow Flesh were used for underlying skin tones.
      Scale 75's SC Tesla Blue and Deep Blue were used for the iris colors.
       
      I will be putting the figure up for charity auction in the near future via Facebook, on a Polish nerd-dom charity auction page. Please see my FB page if you are interested in that. Hoping mentioning this doesn't set off too many forums flags - good cause, not for profit, not yet listed... will edit post if folks want me to remove this.

      Hey fellow Reaper fans. At 10 am this morning i joined 16 other gamers in a 24 hours gaming marathon for charity. All money donated to my page will go to the Childrens hospital in Dallas, TX which isn't to far from Reaper HQ.  At the time of this post i have received $115 out of my goal of $200 raised. I would love to be able to meet my goal, or even better, blow it out of the water like the reaper kick starters :)

      Every year http://www.extra-life.org/'>Extra Life runs a fundraiser for Children's Miracle Network. Instead of walking around in circles and getting blisters, gamers play a marathon weekend of games, video, tabletop, larp, whatever floats their boat. My hubby and I signed up with the Trion team to raise money for Seattle Children's Hospital (you can pick your hospital), and will be playing Defiance all weekend (when we aren't being booted from the game ).

      So that I can plan ahead, and have funds available, I was just wondering if there was any news on when Reaper's Child's Play charity event would be? The better I can budget for these things the more I can spend on my toys, see?
