Hells_Clown
How do ya get static grass to look like real grass? I've got some Woodland Scenics dead grass (on Anne's advice) but when I put it on it looks like, well not much of anything really, it's barely visable. I blow on it to get it to stand out, but it still looks kinda lifeless. Help!?
Flit
After the glue has dried, drybrush the tips of the grass with a highlight or two. That will really make it stand out.
Jester
If you are using just one color, it will look lifeless... I use 4 colors in my grass, and right now I do believe I have enough static grass to last me a lifetime....
Digital M@
Woodland sceneic sells a multicolor grass, which is what I use.
Enchantra
I suggest drybrushing with a few different shades of a desired color like green or brown or yellow-brown. It will give it definition.
Stern Kestrelmann
HC- The key is, as others have said, hit the tops of the grass with a light green, this will bring the grass to life. Another tip; wait until the glue has set/dried completely before highlighting the grass. Remember, the brigther the green highlight the more intense the grass will stand out... Get a few old bases, and experiment. This helped me figure out what works and what doesn't... SK
coogle
Oh, and it's a good idea to spray with sealant before you start drybrushing, as any loose fibres will get caught in your brush.

0311
If you have a Hobby Town or model railroad shop close by I would check those. I get a Multicolored grass at Hobbytown thats apparently from Germany looks great. They have two shades spring meadow and the other is a forest blend with darker shades. They are the original makers of static grass but seam to be harder to find now (at least here). My local model railroad store owner had been trying to get some in for a year until I told him Woodlands Scenics makes their own static grass.
