I think it will be hard to give the impression of glowing eyes with such a brightly colored head.  You will probably need to go very close to white.  The fact that the color of the light is the same as the color of the head is not helping either.

Okay.. You got me laughing !

What a hoot.

Looking forward to seeing you complete this one !

Yeah, I got these guys cause they were less serious than other things I was doing.  And after the LTPK 3 I needed something less serious.

Here is my progress.  I got the arms and umm ... top? base coated and applied a darker wash to bring out the details.  I also gave the eyes and mouth a bit of white (Thanks for the suggestion Fanguad!).  Now I need to decide on the coat's color?

You have definitly achieved the glowing eyes...   If you drift to a darker tan or dark shade coat I think it will help the eyes stand out even more with the contrast.

That Pumpkin is looking incredible.

Very Very Nice Highlighting on it !

Go for a contrast on the coat and buttons !

Make it phun ?

as in Phun Punkin !

The arms are a fairly neutral color.  If I were to think in terms of color wheel and contrast... Would a blue black works?  I feel a Tan would work for the coat but colorwise I leaning towards the black to highlight the pumpkin head?

Maybe a nightmare black, (which is so blue it is black), and then look at buttons... ???

If you were going for the compliment color then a blue/violet would do it.  So maybe a royal purple with shadows towards the blue/black

This would then allow the yellow rope belt  to stand out.  Maybe go to a white or silver buttons set or possibly even better, a brass set of buttons which is just bewteen the yellow and orange on the color wheel.

Hmm.  I like the nighmare black highlighted up with a purple.   I think I'll go with silver (Give me a chance to practice my NMM).

Thanks for the suggestions.

Well yesterday spent alot of time on the road travelling so all I got painted up was the base coat for the cloak experiment.

Today I finished the experiment of highlighting up then using glazes to give the mini the blue-black color.

Here is the mini after several layers glazes of RMS midnight black.

This is the Hill Giant from 77939. I have not finished the cat yet, so I only have the Giant here. I have been trying to add various colors (layers of color for one area/color) to my minis to make them more interesting. Following some of the painters here and other utubers and painters like Angel G. I used an Imperial Purple base for this entire mini and then did Troll Flesh as next base for skin and then built up reddish skin tones for skin and then went lighter tan. Hope you enjoy, I had fun painting him.

Worked on some critters. The leeches were painted Walnut Brown and highlighted in medium grey. Then I went over them with Turbo Dork - 3D Glasses. Then wash of Nuln Oil Glossy. Ended up with the slimy/glossy look I was trying for.

Dire Crab, I was inspired by the color scheme that many have posted here, which i think they were modeling a Blue Crab which seems to be more green with many interesting colors in it. I painted the whole thing Ivory, and then glazed inks and washes up and tried to be careful on where I laid the wash/ink down. Some were just one coat, like Reikland Fleshshade for the edges of shell and claws. Also uded Army Painter green ink and Nuln Oil (for mix with green for darkest part on top of shell) for shell/legs/claws, Reaper Sepia wash for in-between colors and the underside. Only paint I used was bit of black at tips of claws, and Tropical blue watered down to thickish wash for blue on claws/legs.

Just one more for now.  I recently received a kickstarter which had decal pages for books and scrips.  They were primarily for warhammer but the author made some changes during the kickstarter to make them more system neutral.  I got them and then went looking for a mini to try them on.  I found Lor Gorna first and this was the result.  I liked the mini and i also liked the color i got on his robes and cloak!

And of course his purpose, the book, came out pretty well too!
