fanguad - wow! I didn't see yours before I did mine, honest, or I'd have given credit if I'd have stolen borrowed your paint scheme. Amazing OSL on your guy though, that really takes it to the next level. I guess this guy just inherently wears those colors or something.

On the lining, the little flap piece that's on his shoulders. There's a part of me that wanted to give it more definition. But I was worried if I visibly lined it the whole way around, the contrast between the cloth and the liner would be too jarring.

You might consider using a liner that isn't as dark as usual - a medium brown works fine when it's near light browns.  Alternately, you might consider a color that contrasts in hue instead of value - maybe a medium/dark red since he has a fair amount of green on him.  I think what you have is pretty consistent across the miniature though.

I can almost hear him saying "Why i oughttta.... "  I aspire to be able to paint intent into the faces of my minis.  I salute you!

BTW i think the colors look clean and well defined but not the least cartoony.  Realism is great and all but we don't need to make all our minis look like they have been rolling in the dirt.  Perhaps on this day this gentlemen decided he was putting on his sunday best so the ogre knew he meant business!
