Got my Bones II today.  They all look great but I am missing a right arm on 1 fig.  Any way I can get an arm for the below fig?

Thanks,

You'll have to be patient (since they are still in full shipping mode and are dealing with bad weather now) and email them: [email protected]

Or... you can make it a feature rather than a flaw and paint it up with a missing stub with appropriately bloody basing (this is what I'd personally do).

This is why you are ub3r!   I would just toss him to the side and not even worry about bothering them since the deal on all these minis was so great. If I had to have him I would just buy another once they were out on shelves.  Never would I have thought "hmm let me sculpt a stub and make it look like he lost his arm in battle."  Even after learning about the awesomeness of the green stuff in Rhonda's class last year I would just ignore that guy instead of making something cool out of it.

(and this is why I love the forums and this community)

My package arrived!!. Now I need to carefully open it and carefully excise DDS2... Wow it takes up the whole bottom of the box... this could look suspicious... also now I kind of want my wife to see it at the bottom of the box rather than waiting till next week. Next week is the 10th anniversary  of our first date and I was going to give it to her then (was going to stash it in my closet). What does everybody else think. give it to her now or later?

Always stick with the first plan.

Stay on target…

Thanks I will. Just needed someone else to say it to reinforce my decision (She is going to squee very, very hard).

Take it all out, wrap DDS2, re-pack with DDS2 back on the bottom, reseal the box, then hide it until next week and open it with her.

Surprise DDS2 - that's love. Having your bones for a whole week and not playing with them - That's Tru Luvv Farm Boy!!

Wouldn't work, she knows it is coming today, and I work at the UPS center here so I won't be able to fiegn ignorance of it's wherabouts very easily. Plus she has stuff she knows is coming in that box, and I don't want to deny her that.

Also: Farm boy? I'll have you know, that just because I have never lived outside of a cop dodging distance of a cornfield does not make me a farmer. It just makes the vast majprity of my relatives and wife's relatives farmers. I would never deign to call myself such. I haven't earned that right. ^_^

Couldn't you just open the box upside-down, remove DDS2, reseal it, and flip it back over?

Seems the tracker didn't reset to zero at midnight.

It was supposed to but we had a problem with our servers and couldn't fix them remotely. It had to wait until one of us could get in and reset the system that had locked up.

Wow, even the server is staying in because of the snow day.

That's some kind of weather!

See? That's why you should put pictures up instead of words.  He obviously thought 'Server Room' meant 'Pro Paint Storage'.     I blame the educational system in the goblin caves.

Buglips is obviously a blue goblin.

Only if you hold him in ice cold water long enough.

If you hold him under ice cold water, he'll be purple too!

But I heard a nasty rumour that goblins' aversion to water is so great that they float like a cork stopper.

It's a good thing too. Last thing I need is goblins in my water supply.

Oh I had no problem removing DDS from the box and resealing it. The problem would be hiding the whole Bones 2 box As Stephen suggested. She has stuff she is expecting in that box so I won't hide it from her. I'm just hiding DDS2 which she is not expecting. (Also remembered to hide the packing list. it would appear that Bryan packed my bones 2)

Every so often, a model catches my attention. Sometimes because it is excellent and inspiring, sometimes because there is something off about it. Sometimes the model is both.  Here is one such example:

Yeah, it is the angle of the buckler thats just wrong. It simply should not happen. It triggers my OCD.
This is the "Gnoll Warrior" from the "Thank You pack" add-on in the second Bones kickstarter. During the kickstarter it was presented as a line concept drawing and as is usually the case, the resulting miniature ends up slightly different. Still a perfectly good representation of the original concept art, but anyhow.
That said, I do understand that one-piece castability requires certain angles and alignments for the mould to work, and to get the detail in the shield to show it cannot be sideways in the mould. There have been plenty of examples of minis in strange poses and/or holding things at strange angles because of this.
This Gnoll is also stylistically rather different from the other Gnolls Reaper makes in Bones, perhaps it's just not so comic-like?
      But I ramble.
The other day as I yet again was perusing the Drawers of Doom™, I picked this one for the painting table. But first it got to meet Mr. Scalpel for a field amputation followed by a quick rotation and graft:
One drop of superglue later the case of the misaligned buckler was solved.
Add a base and some paint:

Good thing classic Bones material is really easy to slice and reposition. Such an excellent material for convertions as well.

Jagged white parallells of sharp fangs emerged into the campfire light, then a staring yellow eye. Inquisitive, roughly probing clawed fingers followed. Snorting, foul breath enveloped me, causing me to gag.
It jerked its beast-like head back, loud barks of mocking laughter spraying spittle in my face as I tried to stand my ground.
"I smell fright, little man", the gnoll rasped out at last. "Why's that parlay-totem here?"

This mini was finished September 12th 2020.

The last few weeks have been very busy with very little time or inspiration to paint, as the general lack of posts lately will bear full witness to.

As you might imagine, I was going for green magical flames.  I struggled with this, and it did not turn out as I had envisioned it.
This one I count as a bit of a failure, and I am not at all satisfied with how it turned out. Maybe I will repaint the whole thing at some point but for now I am rather sick of it.
At leaast it does look much better IRL on the table than when magnified in photos. Somthing which is a small comfort. The white for "teeth" does not work at all in the pictures and I might just redo that part and leave the rest alone. Or not. The wierd thing is that the white "teeth" are not that bad IRL. But once seen, it cannot be unseen...

      What is this sorcery?!
Gah! Even the captions are uninspired. I should probably just go to bed.

Alas, the fangs I painstakingly painted in do not show up in the photo.

Here is my Kanjira. The pose of the monster made me think it could be a good idea too make it emerge through the Trees. A vision of Knightmare, for sure.

Also did a quick speed paint of two statues. Not sure were the other column is at the moment, but this one was out while I was painting the angel of death so it got paint too.

She fit very snuggly into that base. I'm debating whether or not she'll stay in it.

The pair. Also the angel without the base.
