Tell me about it.

3 years ago when I first started backing kickstarter projects, the Canadian dollar was worth more than the US dollar.

Now I'm looking at it hovering around 80cents compared to the US.

That 20% difference really adds up when you start adding international shipping, taxes, and customs fees.

Its a big reason why I haven't backed some recent ks projects I would have liked to.

Edit: also still waiting for my wave 1 ROW Bones shipment. <_<

So I saw people getting signed thank-you cards in their shipments.  Were those only included for the first few thousand boxes?  A lot of the pictures I saw posted at the start had cards, and lately I haven't seen any.

I had one in both my Wave 1, and my Wave 6 ROW shipment.

My Bones might in fact now be in the right country, or at least on a plane heading to the right country? Customs probably opened the box and had a quick game or three with my collection, then forgot about them for a while before stuffing them back in a box and kind of taping it back up...

Oh, and my total order weight is apparently... 1.2lbs. Do I win some sort of prize for smallest order mentioned so far?

Toronto, Canada here. Just the basic core set with no bells and whistles came to somewhere around $130 for which I was not slapped with customs or any additional fees. It arrived on Monday and passing it over once noticed no obvious issues, but I'll have to do a proper head count later.

Very happy thus far! Bones 1 was great fun and I'm really glad Bones 2 isn't afraid to pull any punches either. I even got a signed card from the Reaper staff. <3

My tracking still says it's ready for pickup. I wonder if the weather being so bad that UPS hasn't even gotten to reaper to pick up?

Same here. They should've had no problem getting there by now, so I'm hoping it's just a tracker delay.

^This^

It's been while since we've reached the point where it just doesn't feel like it's worth to back a lot of projects. Just for Bones 2, the shipping + GST/HST + handling fees, with the current exchange rate, are worth 32.5% of the grand total of what we payed.

Nearly a third of the cost is shipping!

I should be VERY angry. But then this happened (sorry for the supersized cellphone quality):

There was much rejoicing  :bday:    (once the sticker shock passed  ).

Seriously, was it just as expensive for Reaper during Bones 1? I remember that it did cost them a bundle too.
