You really can't fight it. It is several costs together.

First it is administrative costs (usually about 20E), then it is taxes over the contents, then it is taxes over the shipping. It seems a bit high, but it is unlikely that it is 'wrong'.

They really are just trying to discourage people from shipping for personal use from out of the EU. :( It's not cool at all, I know.

Did call bpost - belgian post - and was able to request a recalculation - did note to the other person on the line that those were in fact 2 boxes for 1 invoice.

Administrative costs are 30€ in Belgium, so that's 60€ for both packages.

Still, 350€ on 920€ (actual order and shipping added) is still steep - that would be 193€ VAT (21% in Belgium)

My guess is that they calculated the VAT on the second package for my whole order, seeing that it's 222,62€ (192,62+30) fee for the small box, and 194,12€ (164,12+30) for the big box.

I'll know the result in about 2 weeks - 1 day for the recalculation, the rest for some international controlling mechanism afaik.

i had that for Bones 1. The order was split up in 2 boxes but both boxes were labeled for the full pledge amount.

Luckily at the time Reaper gave the order a basic Vampire value of $100 instead of the real pledge total.

Wave 1 UK here:  I got my snail mail letter from the Royal Mail today.  £96 in duty, VAT and fees on my $520 pledge (minor ouch).  Most of that is 20% VAT (£72) but that is a little duty (£16) .  I could argue that most of the bones are "non human plastic figurines" which don't attract duty in the UK as opposed to "human plastic figurines" which do but then we get into the arguments of "that one isn't human, she has pointy ears so is an elf."

I can can confirm that my Wave 1 ROW (Canada) showed up yesterday, but I haven't had a chance to do more than check and see if the items that were on the slips were in the box.  All good on that front.  Detailed inventory will have to wait for the weekend.  But I did get a chance to dry-fit Khanjira, just to check of course, and see how he compares to both the PCs and Cthulhu.  Result: ::D:

You're right; both the packages had the same label attached to it, saying they contain 846.23$ .

I told the guy on the phone that they were for 1 invoice, so I hope they keep that into account :(

Well, yay...Oops has updated my tracking information from 'scheduled to arrive yesterday' to 'We have no idea.  We'll get around to it, maybe, eventually, we think?'.  Given that there's no scan logs since leaving Texas, until they give me information otherwise I'm assuming either it's at a snowed-in shipping hub, or they managed to lose it.

Woot! My regularly scheduled day off and my KS2 arrived.  Now if I can just calm down enough to get back to my regularly scheduled painting.  Yeah, like I'm not gonna open all the boxes and bags and rub my hands in excitement of all the miniatures i'll probably never get to.
