[MOD]

It's those specific three.  They are also ones with a comma in their name:

Khanjira, the World Breaker

Mashaaf, the Great Old One

Oh, Rats!

Reaper is aware of the problem.  I have texted Bryan directly.

[/MOD]

Just heard back from Bryan.

It appears the items are being pulled and included in the box for shipment.  The issue is the email parser having an issue with the comma in those specific items, so it is "kablooie-ing" the email parser.

As a Calvin fan, I have to approve of Bryan's use of kalblooie!  Hampster Huey and the Gooey Kablooie!

Glad to hear it as previously stated that Khanjira, the World Breaker is the one I'm most eagerly awaiting would cry if it was missed off my shipments

Not a fan of Curry.

But I still posted a copy of that to the KS comments for you Bryan.

Also on a unrelated note for some reason I've never been able to leave comments on the ks page. Is that just due to the fact I was a late backer?

Yes. If you joined via the Pledge Manager, you are not technically a Kickstarter backer, so you would be unable to post to the KS comments since you did not back through KS. Edited by ladystorm

Databases done well are pretty resilient things. You can throw all sorts of ridiculous things into a text field if you parameterize your queries. It's even sometimes dangerous to your other systems if you're not careful.

The standard email tools available in your run-of-the-mill linux or unix systems, though, are awful. Completely, utterly, ineffably deranged. Some of our environments at work just never send email because nobody has figured out what broke. The more frustrating ones come and go--sometimes they work, sometimes they don't, and nobody has any bloody clue why the heck the search application that hasn't changed in a year suddenly can no longer send email when things go wrong. The Reaper team has my sympathies but seem to be doing pretty well with the email all things considered...

Ah ok thanks and in that case I will thank all you guys and girls over the pond for doing such a incredible job with this. All I know is I will be keeping a eye out for anything else you guys may create in the future. Well that is if the missus does not kill me for having a room full of miniatures by then

OFFICIAL:

We have found the problem. There was a problem in part of the code that was parsing the array containing the list of items sent that was going Kablooie on commas within the strings.

Kit has shut down the offending parser, and we are now working on getting e-mail generation restored with proper parsing, free of Kablooies.

All indications are that the items were correctly pulled, and there is nothing any of you need to do but sit an wait for your parcels.

This does mean that for a short time tonight, until it is fixed, there will not be an e-mail from Reaper indicating shipment, only one (potentially) from the carrier.

We will work to get those e-mails going out again as fast as possible, and are very sorry for the confusion caused.

An official Update will go out later this evening with a full status report and instructions for those who do not read these forums. In the meantime, anyone wishing to curry favor is welcome to re-port this information in the KS comments.

I can't believe I'm saying this but I think we should sacrifice grammar for the sake of functionality... remove the commas, let the emails flow!

Gra'mar was always a fan of written correspondence I don't think she'll mind too much.

I promise to do my best not to wince when I read "Mashaaf the Great Old One".

I've been lurking for the past few days, and wanted to confirm something.

I'm an international wave 1 backer. I received a tracking notice from UPS last Thursday. The tracking number currently just says that UPS has received the ship ping info, but that's it. I have not yet received an email from Reaper with a list of what has been shipped.

According to what I've read, this isn't a big issue, correct? The wave 1 ROW's were picked up Saturday morning, and Reaper was having some issues with their email system for the first few days of shipping, so a lot of wave 1 people didn't get emails. I can reasonably expect my Bones to arrive in the next week or so, but for now there's no need to bother Reaper about it, yes?

Was there a Reaper confirmation email supposed to be sent out along with a UPSMI email?

I received an email from UPSMI with a tracking number on Feb 12, I'm Wave 2.  I've seen statements on the forums that people are getting itemized breakdowns of what has shipped.  I've received no email from Reaper to that effect.

I have only a tracking number that says that the package is still sitting waiting to be picked up, some 5 days later.  I presume it's broken?  Do I inquire at UPS, the USPS, Canada Post, or Reaper? (Reasons to not use UPSMI #134534254).  UPS is telling me they don't have it (because their infallable computer says they don't, duh).  USPS doesn't have it, and there's no way it made it to CanadaPost in 5 days.

Basically, I'm pretty sure my package is already lost.

Also if someone at Reaper could please pull the fingernails from the person who decided to use UPSMI, it would be appreciated.  Maybe just stick their hand in whatever machine grinds and liquifies the plastic for Thomas.

Edit: aha, got post-sniped by someone with the same issue!

Kovbasa - Yes!

Unidentifiable - No need to worry yet.

By the end of this week you should have the shipping email from reaper with a USPS tracking number that is actually meaningful.

And possibly the boxes may arrive before the emails.

Not ideal, not what anyone wanted or anticipated just the influence of Murphy and the real world.

Unless there are further updates from Reaper to say otherwise, hang in there and assume the best until Friday. If you don't have an email by then, let Reaper now via the help email address.

I'd really rather not get into violence against the officers of the company, being that I am one.

But your tracking number that was provided, assuming it is correct (see Update #112) should begin working within 48 hours form now. If you were Wave 1, then probably within 24 hours.  The numbers don't start working until they have been scanned in at the facility, and the trucks delivered Saturday were not picked up until yesterday evening.

      Goblins!
So awhile back I was horrified to discover that some old un-finished minis had sprouted a strange orange mold. I gave them a deep clean and seemed to have solved the issue (spoiler: I did not and it's affecting nearly all my minis... but that's a problem for another time).

As a reward for enduring the cleaning, these goblins deserved to finally get painted.

      Goblin Command (77349)
First up are these two baddies from one of the Bones 2 expansion sets.

These guys, being earlier bones, are a bit on the rough side, and definitely out-of-scale with the others. But that does help them stand out a bit.

      More Photos Below the Spoiler:

      Goblin Warriors (77444)
Next up, we have our "heavy hitters" from Bones 3.

I like these sculpts a lot better. There's a uniformity in the face structure, while still having individuality between models.

      More Photos Below Spoiler:

      Goblin Skirmishers (77445)
The final batch of wimpier goblins from Bones 3.

These guys are the mookiest of mooks. Poorly armed, and poorly armored. These are the guys that get sent in first to soak up some arrows.

      More Photos Below Spoiler:

It's nice to finally have some painted goblins. Though my bag full of 50+ more unpainted goblins still taunts me.  I have plans to paint them in a few different shades from the yellow-green used here, to a fleshy yellow-tan, to a pale fleshy-grey.  Hopefully that'll break up the duplicates and add some variety.  But that's a future project.

After painting all these guys up I am tempted to finish the set with the Goblin Honor Guard.  They're the only ones I don't have. I can't see myself getting much use out of them, as they're a bit more situational or decorative than practical. But my completionist brain says I need them.

Reaper has so many incredible and different goblin sculpts.  Which ones are your favorites?

Every so often, a model catches my attention. Sometimes because it is excellent and inspiring, sometimes because there is something off about it. Sometimes the model is both.  Here is one such example:

Yeah, it is the angle of the buckler thats just wrong. It simply should not happen. It triggers my OCD.
This is the "Gnoll Warrior" from the "Thank You pack" add-on in the second Bones kickstarter. During the kickstarter it was presented as a line concept drawing and as is usually the case, the resulting miniature ends up slightly different. Still a perfectly good representation of the original concept art, but anyhow.
That said, I do understand that one-piece castability requires certain angles and alignments for the mould to work, and to get the detail in the shield to show it cannot be sideways in the mould. There have been plenty of examples of minis in strange poses and/or holding things at strange angles because of this.
This Gnoll is also stylistically rather different from the other Gnolls Reaper makes in Bones, perhaps it's just not so comic-like?
      But I ramble.
The other day as I yet again was perusing the Drawers of Doom™, I picked this one for the painting table. But first it got to meet Mr. Scalpel for a field amputation followed by a quick rotation and graft:
One drop of superglue later the case of the misaligned buckler was solved.
Add a base and some paint:

Good thing classic Bones material is really easy to slice and reposition. Such an excellent material for convertions as well.

Jagged white parallells of sharp fangs emerged into the campfire light, then a staring yellow eye. Inquisitive, roughly probing clawed fingers followed. Snorting, foul breath enveloped me, causing me to gag.
It jerked its beast-like head back, loud barks of mocking laughter spraying spittle in my face as I tried to stand my ground.
"I smell fright, little man", the gnoll rasped out at last. "Why's that parlay-totem here?"

This mini was finished September 12th 2020.

The last few weeks have been very busy with very little time or inspiration to paint, as the general lack of posts lately will bear full witness to.

As you might imagine, I was going for green magical flames.  I struggled with this, and it did not turn out as I had envisioned it.
This one I count as a bit of a failure, and I am not at all satisfied with how it turned out. Maybe I will repaint the whole thing at some point but for now I am rather sick of it.
At leaast it does look much better IRL on the table than when magnified in photos. Somthing which is a small comfort. The white for "teeth" does not work at all in the pictures and I might just redo that part and leave the rest alone. Or not. The wierd thing is that the white "teeth" are not that bad IRL. But once seen, it cannot be unseen...

      What is this sorcery?!
Gah! Even the captions are uninspired. I should probably just go to bed.

Here is my Kanjira. The pose of the monster made me think it could be a good idea too make it emerge through the Trees. A vision of Knightmare, for sure.
