clears, translucents, inks comparison

Here's something you might be well positioned to try.

 

Painting the translucent Bones (fire elementals, undead) with the translucent inks.

 

Has anybody tried inks on raw unprimed Bones?

 

  Yeah.  I've found that inks work a LOT better than a wash for definining details on the translucent Bones, and that translucent paints (in my case, the Tamiya Clear range) work very well indeed on them.

 

 

I've used the Tamiya Clear red on my translucent red fire bones, as well as the Tamiya clear green and blues on the ghost bones. I really like the glossy look these add. I'll definitely be using the clear from the same line on the gelatinous cube and slimes. Most likely the clear blue will be used on the ice elementals. Not sure what I'm doing with the purple shadow bones yet. I'm not sure the shadow critters should be glossy.
