Long story short MIHK was the lead sculptor for Rackham back in the day and arguably one of the best scale sculptors around. Problem is he has a history of taking money for work and then not doing it and now, through Kickstarters, that information is becoming known by more then just the industry insiders that have been excusing his behavior for years.

I'm just going to quote what I posted in the Arena Rex KS thread.

 

I don't knowingly support people who have shown themselves to be unethical members of the hobby community nor do I knowingly support the companies who employ them. It's a personal thing based on some folks who have tried to rip me off in the past and other folks who have succeeded in ripping me off.

Looks like I'll be passing on those superhero goblins.

There's just too many good folks in our hobby who are successfully putting out their own projects for me to bother supporting the questionable ones.

I actually think I would back this despite him having done the sculpt, just make sure the sculpt is done before buying it, but he's heavily involved so that makes it a no go for me.

 

Probably really not fair to hold a company 100% guilty for his crimes as he still has a reputation as being the best--so people want him. It's when they hire him despite knowing his past behavior that is a concern for me.

From what I understand, the people behind this project are very familiar with this sculptor and therefore would be well aware of his history. They knew who they were getting into bed with.

 

I don't care to join them in it.
