Dwarves and Elves from various manufactures and a Bones

Recommended Posts

So here are a few more. The wizard is the newest version of Hyreka. I love Bobby Jackson sculpts, but I feel like the ball was dropped on this figure and I prefer the Klocke version. Her lips were not very prominent on the sculpt so I had to fake it. The Dwarves are from Godslayer which I have never heard of until I did an Ebay search. I like how they look but they are sorta pricey. The other is from Otherworld. I love the old school look of the model and cannot wait to do more.

The Bones model was from the Learn to paint kit. I enjoy painting armor and the model turned out great for a simple paint job.

This is the Hill Giant from 77939. I have not finished the cat yet, so I only have the Giant here. I have been trying to add various colors (layers of color for one area/color) to my minis to make them more interesting. Following some of the painters here and other utubers and painters like Angel G. I used an Imperial Purple base for this entire mini and then did Troll Flesh as next base for skin and then built up reddish skin tones for skin and then went lighter tan. Hope you enjoy, I had fun painting him.

Worked on some critters. The leeches were painted Walnut Brown and highlighted in medium grey. Then I went over them with Turbo Dork - 3D Glasses. Then wash of Nuln Oil Glossy. Ended up with the slimy/glossy look I was trying for.

Dire Crab, I was inspired by the color scheme that many have posted here, which i think they were modeling a Blue Crab which seems to be more green with many interesting colors in it. I painted the whole thing Ivory, and then glazed inks and washes up and tried to be careful on where I laid the wash/ink down. Some were just one coat, like Reikland Fleshshade for the edges of shell and claws. Also uded Army Painter green ink and Nuln Oil (for mix with green for darkest part on top of shell) for shell/legs/claws, Reaper Sepia wash for in-between colors and the underside. Only paint I used was bit of black at tips of claws, and Tropical blue watered down to thickish wash for blue on claws/legs.

During my Shelf of Shame Project I started with the fairy. Since there is only room for one project on my wet palette, this one had to take the back seat during RVE. Today I finished another project, at least as far as the palette is concerned, so I can finally continue with my little fairy. Every aspect of this project was created by rolling dice.

For everyone interested, here is a somewhat elaborate summary of part one:

During weekend I usually put down my brushes. At the moment, painting is a stand in for my job that's on hold because of Corona restrictions, so there will probably be no progress until next week. I just wanted to set up everything so I can start right away!

Just one more for now.  I recently received a kickstarter which had decal pages for books and scrips.  They were primarily for warhammer but the author made some changes during the kickstarter to make them more system neutral.  I got them and then went looking for a mini to try them on.  I found Lor Gorna first and this was the result.  I liked the mini and i also liked the color i got on his robes and cloak!

And of course his purpose, the book, came out pretty well too!
