Grenadier 2007 Females #7: Swordswoman

Recommended Posts

Your argument is invalid, my hat is a dragon.

I dig it. Nice and colourful, and her expression is pretty haughty for someone wearing a lizard on her head.

Nice dragon, can i wear it as a hat?

She looks a bit like Hillary Clinton... (insert joke here... i will avoid the politics in this friendly forum...)  love the face and the shape you gave it with shading (these old minis don't have the details... but your skills make up for it) - very nice mini

LOVELY! That piece may actually predate my involvement with fantasy in general & Grenadier Miniatures in particular. The Lady has quite an imperious look to her...daring anyone to comment on her hat I'm sure. Be that as it may you have WONDERFULLY brought the Girl up to current standard. Your brushwork, particularly her BEAUTIFULLY expressive face, & choice of colors are OUTSTANDING. VERY WELL DONE!

Really nice unexpected color combination on this piece.

That blue/green/yellow and sapphire blue is shocking.. very effective !

I suppose you could say this mini is from my childhood, since we're about the same age.  ^_^  (we're = mini, not Cash, though perhaps he's of an age as well? )

The dwarf is an Eureka 15mm figure (maybe 18mm, can't remember right now). I brought him with other 15mm figures to see if they would fit as brownies, gnomes or dwarves. He fits all of the roles, so now I know where to get some small folk. I actually enjoyed painting him and the 15mm landsknechts (didn't photograph them) a lot more than I expected.

The monk is an old Grenadier Figure, I think you can get him at Mirliton now. I speed painted him using a Zorn Pallet. It works well for anyone who is somber or drab, it can also work well for NMM.

The figures on both sides are from Ground Zero Games, i think they are from the goth set. They can work as cultists, lords or even vampires.

The maid and the butler are from Wargames Foundry. I really like the sets. The rest is still being painted. With the maid I experimented in painting an impression of some lace or embroidery on her pink skirt. I tried to make the cup she holds look like bone china.

This picture is closer to the real colour than the one above (thought it is still not perfect, with the monks robes not being as distinct in sections as they are)

Feedback and Critiques are welcome and appreciated.

Been on a painting spree these last few months, in fact Cassie is mini 52 painted so far this year, out of my original goal of painting 50 all year.

First up is Elliwyn Heatherlark, Gnome Bard (SKU 77164) which is the bones version.  The details were a bit soft, but she is totally serviceable for table-top.

Next up, Blink Berenwicket (SKU 3689), the super spunky female gnome warrior in metal.  The sword didn't really turn out, and I should have had a side view...  Metals are shaded metallics.

And last but not least, Cassie, Female Gnome Wizard (SKU 77031) in bones and mini number 52 of the year.

      Hello guys and gals!

so this is the first figure I ever painted, even though these aren't that version.  The first version, which is actually the one you see below that was painted first years ago, is actually the original stripped version that I would have painted when is was probably about twelve.  The original one was painted in model enamel colors, with pink skin, yellow hair and shirts, green paints and I think grey cloak.  I ended up getting back into minis again way back and stripped him before I knew about EBay and was able to get a second copy.  So here's the one I just finished painted a few nights ago:

and here's the one I painted I think in about 2004:

      and here they are together:

So anyways, just thought it would be fun to post, now I'm off to go make some organic pancakes for breakfast!

      Enjoy!

It's been a while since I've painted a Reaper miniature, so I thought I would post my latest creation here.

I had a lot of fun painting this mini - blue is one of my favorite colors to blend with, and I enjoy painting fun hair, like her braid in the back.  TMM was used on the metal.
