Any thoughts on Character creation? Specifically ability scores. My current character was built off of 6 scores of 8,10,12,14,14 & 16. Put the scores wherever you want. Its simple but maybe a bit too biased to PCs.....any thoughts?

That's fine, you can go with the array or roll 4d6, dropping the lowest d6, 6x and assign as you want.

The rules for feats are that you can take one in place of the ability score increase you get every 4 class levels. (note that is class not character level; something to watch out for if multi-classing)

You can do it ahead of time and save time for us to jump in faster.

In 5E you get a feat OR +2 ability score upgrade starting at level4. after that is up to your class. I think there are other ways to get them.. Humna get an extra one no? They are a lot rarer than in the past. But IMHO much more powerful. Also classes get extra powers thru the class leveling.. Clerics get certain bonuses on the domain they pick for example.  Magic items seem to be rarer as well...  at least in my campaign. I have a Weapon of warning  with no bonus and a +1 scarab of saves on my 5th level cleric .. that's it really. I supposed its campaign specific, but I don't think its thats necessary to create a decent character...just my 2 cents

I would love to DM a game but I know my limitations and looking at my schedule for the weekend, I am afraid that my mind would not be functioning well enough to DM at night. I experience that now with my Monday night games, if work was crazy that day and I am tired. If you need help organizing everything though, I volunteer.
