Stone Eagles (RAFM dwarves)

Recommended Posts

I found these guys via the daily overstock markdown via a certain online retailer. Absolutely loved the looks of them. Was not disappointed. They're really simple and I think it's fair to say not as highly detailed as a lot of stuff, but they totally feed my ongoing dwarf addiction.

As best I can tell, they're from RAFM, a line called "Death in the Dark" per the Lost Minis wiki. I regrettably do not know the sculptor--I'd like to, so if you know let's hear. ETA: sculpted by Bob Murch. Many thanks to Darsc for that info.

Thanks for looking!

Those are indeed RAFM dwarfs and were sculpted by the talented and rugged pulp adventurer himself, Bob Murch.

Yes I'm a fan of his. ::):

EDIT: forgot to add I quite like your paintwork on them.

I have these myself that I painted up mmphglx years ago in a very similar blue to yours

Wow, really cool minis. Overall, they are a little shiny for my taste. I'd recommend hitting them with your preferred matte varnish. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks thanks. I'll be on the lookout for Murch minis. I saw he regrettably only appears in the Reaper listings once, having sculpted some portion of the bandits in Townsfolk IV.

That blue is "Lake Blue," at least in the Artist's Touch world of cheap craft paints. It's become my "dwarf army" color (having begun with this guy). If I ever put together some sort of wargame army, that'll be it, heh. My wife, an avid WoW player, says it reminds her of the Alliance, which I suppose is vaguely pleasing and/or fitting. Or something.

Solid advice, I know, thanks. This has been a continuing issue for me. I grabbed a couple cans of Dullcote today and hopefully will get enough sunshine/get unlazy enough to get outside and get it on a lot of fellers.
