I was hoping there would be an option (given the box is twice as tall) for foam that is deeper with wider openings to store larger models.  Got plenty of medium model storage in the first KS.

I was hoping there would be an option (given the box is twice as tall) for foam that is deeper with wider openings to store larger models.  Got plenty of medium model storage in the first KS.

Unfortunately due to the machines where I am based I can only got 135mm high.

Depending on the success of this KS I may make another full and half pick and pluck trays with bigger plucks for monsters/tanks as the current plucks are 13x13mm.

I'm also looking into solutions of gluing them together in stacks.

Is it a cardboard exterior box with foam trays?

Looking at £60 level, but have no idea of storage, can anyone compare this level to other foam storage solutions on the market.

Cheers

Yes it's still cardboard, I'll be getting bags made at a later stage to transport the cases and another set of bags just for the foam.

From my research there's nothing on the market which can hold 600 28mm models on a 25mm base for £60 but on the KS they're £54 each or two for £100.

I'm not seeing any 135mm height foam though? Or am I missing something? That would be 5 inches deep to me and great if the width and height were larger also.

I did back that at 6 cases (and they are fabulous). Just didn't get any large ones then as I needed much storage for normal sized figures. Perhaps consider a load out with larger? If not, I will have to wait!

No, I was looking more for a tray that is 135mm deep and then the opening be square and only 4 per tray.  And perhaps another 65mm deep with 6-8 squares per tray.  A place to put larger monsters like dragons, etc.  Looking back at the first KS the pick and pluck ones were the only ones you could do this with.  And I've never been happy with any pick and pluck trays I've ever gotten.  With the double size cases these deeper trays would work quite nicely I'd think.

The only way for me to do pick and pluck with that depth would be to glue two trays together as I don't have the facility to the depths you want as one tray.

I will be doing a 40k KS at some point to hold wraithknights, imperial knights etc so maybe that could be a solution for you?

I wouldn't want pick and pluck, hate those solutions!  I was looking for something like the 135mm deep cylinder trays from the first KS but with squares like the troop trays.  Not squares the same SIZE as the troop tray, but bigger.  The 40k one could well solve it as storing those is no different than storing a dragon.

I'll see what I can do, I'm looking at making the plucks bigger so it's easier for the bigger tanks/monsters.

@ Mantis Creations:  You might consider adding a configuration for Cthulhu Wars, particularly if you can devise one that will fit the upcoming expansions that will be shipped this summer.  I'm sure Arthur Petersen at Petersen Games could give the dimensions required for the expansion figures.  Advertising on boardgamegeek.com and the Cthulhu Wars thread here and on DakkaDakka.com would almost certainly garner some interest for that type of configuration as well as just one to hold the core game which has already been released.

There is some discussion of that topic already here, but those don't include spaces for the biggest models which are up to 186 mm tall:

Here is a picture of everything from the core and expansions:

There will definitely be people looking for a storage solution for that many large figures that protects them and is easy to transport.
